It took them just under 10 weeks to replace my windshield when it was cracked. I was doing slightly better than some of you, I'd had my car for 3 weeks

At the time there was a delay in the manufacturing so hopefully that will be clear now and the glass is coming through as normal. It was only the HUD glass that was a problem and so I had no choice but to wait.

All fixed now though

I would give BMW a call, Thats the best first step instead of going through the horrid insurance company right away.

Maybe it's a state to state difference.
When my 06 A4 had a cracked windshield I took it to the Audi dealer and requested an OEM Audi windshield. Audi ordered it, but a glass company came to install it at the dealership. During the install I got a loaner car, which was great as I left the car off in the morning and took the loaner to work, then picked my car up with an OEM Audi windshield.
My State Farm insurance said nothing and IIRC I paid a $50 deductible per my policy.

I just threw up a little. Now I'm definitely glad I didn't get the HUD.

It's almost guaranteed I'll get a crack here in CO and I like to do the BMW CCA Performance Driving School (track day) in the fall and spring. Part of the car prep/conditions is that you can't have any cracks in the windshield.
