340i exhaust tips

Hi chaps,i have a 340i backbox fitted to my 335d,it currently has black chrome tips fitted, but i really fancy some stainless steel ones, anyone got any recommendations on where to get some, have looked online but unsure what size i need to fit, current tips are held on with clamps.

OEM part number for the polished stainless ones - 18307605041

Plenty of suppliers online and also plenty of fake copies.

Personally i think 4.5" are too big and look a bit out of place. 93mm (3.6") is the perfect size and generally the ones people go for. You will need an inlet size of 60mm.

On my last 340i I fitted the MPPSK chrome tips to my standard back box. They are much bigger than the standard and are OEM, so subtle and not looking too Jap stylee

To fit them you will also need the step adapted pipes from the 140i and will have to cut the existing pipe projection so that it's not seen poking through the adapters. You have to fiddle a bit to align them but to me they were a great addition. Couple of pics of the process if it helps?

Of course if you want to set them further under the car you can just trim the adapter sleeve where its on the existing pipe (narrow end). I clamped them on so I could remove again if I wanted, but never did, so guess you could just spot weld them in position?

Do look good, what did you use to trim the exhaust. i think i need to trim mine to set the allignment to stick a bit further in. Some people are running single exits on 440 models now. Looks good a big jap can style exit. Sounds good too

Something like this... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Exhaust-Tai...BY6NOXFQJ&th=1

looks the same but you need to check the diameter they cut. If you have a reciprocating saw you can use those with the right blades.

I have a pair of original 340i chrome tips that you can have for free if you like. You'd need to pay postage though as I'm in the southwest.

I actually used Alscoob's guide and done the exact same thing as him. MPE tips are perfect.

Hi. Are these exhaust tips the ones you get on a standard exhaust on a 340/440? or are they the MPPSK ones? I'd like to take them off you if still available!

I will put some pics up when i’ve fitted them, had some bad news about my nan so not had a chance to fit them.they do look spot on and build is excellent, put a coat of ceramic on them so should keep them nice and shiny.
