Has anyone gotten No Glare Led lights to work on LCI

Has anyone been able to code in no glare headlights on the f30 LCI?

I know the LED headlights use a new module now that is much much more advanced, but has anyone given it a shot?

Couldn't we copy the settings from a German member?

Is it as easy as removing the disabling VO codes and coding the whole car?

It isn't that easy and it is not as easy as using ECE values either. So far I've found that both FLEs, FEM_Body, and FLA/KAFAS are involved. We've gotten various portions of it working but it is not all sorted yet. As a frame of reference, using pure ECE values causes a voltage malfunction with the turn signals. VO coding also seems to be country type specific in this case. Isolating the relevant settings needed in each of these ECUs will be the key for US spec cars.

Dang is there a dedicated thread where people are working?

People have made great progress, and at this point it seems like members have accomplished it. Give this .PDF a shot

EDIT: Another doc from a competing forum that I don't know if I can link to has a third step to adjust the angle of the beams from DOT to ECE spec. If you search "How To Enable the GFHB Functionality of Adaptive LED Headlights on US F3x/F8x Cars", and you click on the first result from BMW E-Sys you will see it.

I don't have adaptive LED lights (yet...) so I cannot verify any of this but people have put a ton of work in and it should be shared with the community

Doesn't work with the 2016 Adaptive LED. A number of us have tried. My car got into a weird situation where the front headlights completely stopped working. Thankfully I had previous codes backed up where I could revert back to normal.

Yeah there's steps past that PDF too, but that's for pre-LCI unfortunately.

I'm pretty good with coding so when I get my car you can bet I'll do my best to get it working.

It has been 99% figured out and is working perfectly. Its being discussed in another more "festive" location.

You must be doing something wrong. I've coded the Glare Free feature on my 2016 435i with full LED and it works flawlessly.

Nope, the 4 series and M3/4 still use the old control module configuration that we have already figured out. BMW is using a new lighting control module moving forward, it just started on the 3 series this year and will make its debut with the 4 series LCI/engine upgrade I'm sure. New module is called FLE.

Damn shame! It's such a nice and useful feature to have.

Oh it's been figured out with the new setup, when I get mine and test it myself I'll put it up here. It's being discussed on another website.

The owner of this site Jason is a real PITA about linking to other sites. Or else I would link it

Gonna keep up with this as I think it's an awesome feature that we pay for and don't get.

If you have FLA or KAFAS module then yes, otherwise no.

It seems that i do have KAFAS module (looking at my CAF files). Real question if i need to somehow enable switching or keeping HBA on/off?
Would NGHB just work automatically when i have my high beems on?

It seems there is no coding possibility for auto turn-on.

You need a new steering column switch unit (with activation switch for HBA).

NGHB is part of the high beam assistant. If you have KAFAS you should be able to get this working if you get the hardware for the turn signal stalk to enable the auto high beams. That being said we still haven't figured out the coding to make NGHB work 100% correctly on a LCI F30.

Couldn't we just get the coding from a German LCI F30?

I thought we were pretty much set in that thread. The only thing were missing is 100% high beam right? But were not positive it's supposed to do that.

No they have different turn signals and it messes things up for us.

So it seems the F80 guys have it figured out but I'm guessing the F30 has a different setup?
