I don't really get the point of "Premium Package" on the 335i. I think it's the worst $2000+ you can spend. Again just my opinion, but the BMW Leatherette is pretty good. Can hardly tell the difference. In essence for another $800, you get comfort access + Satellite Radio? Slickdeals has various codes where you can get a year's worth for $77. Is the kick trunk open that big of a deal?
anyways, here was the build I was quoted for: 335i Black Sapphire Metallic M-Sport Black Leatherette Heated Front Seats Dynamic Handling Package HK Sound Sport Transmission with Paddle Shifters MSRP: $50,670 With just $250 Doc Fees + Temp. Tags + First Payment + $70 License Plates Down Payment was: $535.28 With $2000 down, that brings my payment down to $424. 12k/36 months. This is with Tax + Acquisition Fees rolled in. I should also mention that I was doing a ED, thus the agreed upon price was $550 Above ED Invoice... My Sales MGR. agreed to sell me the AH3 for the same deal, so I am considering that, since the incentives are a tad bit better on those... |

I accidentally told you the 2 yr 12k lease payment - which was $535. Identical Numbers: 12k/2yr No Money Down: $535 @ 70% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 12k/2yr $2000 Down: $443 15k/2yr No Money Down: $578 @ 68% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 15k/2yr $2000 Down: $486 12k/3yr No Money Down: $487 @ 64% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 12k/3yr $2000 Down: $424 15k/3yr No Money Down: $515 @ 62% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 15k/3yr $2000 Down: $452 Hope this makes better sense!!! Same Build for the AH3 MSRP: $57,150 12k/2yr No Money Down: $483 @ 68% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 12k/2yr $2000 Down: $392 15k/2yr No Money Down: $532 @ 66% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 15k/2yr $2000 Down: $440 12k/3yr No Money Down: $466 @ 62% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 12k/3yr $2000 Down: $404 15k/3yr No Money Down: $499 @ 60% Residual; .00129 + .0003 = .00159 MF 15k/3yr $2000 Down: $435 That brings some more perspective. The AH3 is slightly better. Not a whole lot though!!! Last edited by ssedha; 04-09-2013 at 10:04 AM.. |

That makes a lot more sense. I read that first payment 4 or 5 times trying to figure out how you got it so low, wondering why I couldn't reduce my payment that much with just a little down.
Thanks for clearing it up.

You can get the rates down with multiple MSD's and ED. Also the $750 loyalty and $500 pull ahead. I'm pricing a 335 with msrp @ $50k, 12k miles and 24/mo... at about $430 a month nothing down

I put a deposit down on a fully loaded 2013 335i:
Vehicle:2013 335i M Sport Exterior: Estoril Blue Interior: Black Dakota Leather MSRP: $56,220 Sale Price: $54,200 Additional Rebate: $1750 Cash out of pocket: $12,800 Security Deposit: $2800 36 mos at 10,000 miles per year $369.52 Per Month That's with a $10k down payment, though--but it *is* under $400... |

Here's the deal I worked out, would love to hear any thoughts. Maybe not quite as good as ssedha's, but close:
335i 6MT Msport Glacier Silver Black Leatherette Dynamic Handling Package Heated Front Seats Navigation + destination/handling MSRP - $51,445 Dealer Invoice (per BMWconfig) - $47,330 $0 down (other than 1st months payment, tax, tags) $578/month for 12k miles/36 months

I am trading in my current 2007 328XI and putting some of it towards the down payment; it's still less over 3 years than putting less down. Why, is that not a good idea? I'm looking at the total cost over the lease--not the upfront.

If the car gets totaled for whatever reason say bye bye to your down payment.

Putting money down on a lease is essencially making the payments up front. You'll likely save a very small amount in interest and a lower monthly payment might look more appealing, but the risk of losing it in the case of an accident is generally too high for most people. |
