I've been toying with it, but I haven't purchased yet. If the volume is too low for daily use I'm not sure I'll buy.

Did you get Integrated NAV to work with 8.8" screen? I would want to make similar setup too (I have HU_ENTRYNAV) but still waiting for someone to confirm if it is possible. Bigger screen would be nice because of split screen even if NAV would be only 2/3 of the screen.

I believe that it can be done through extended codings searching, but I haven't got enough time to do it yet. To be honest,I prefer to keep the 8,8 screen, even if I lose the Integrated Navigation function. |

Ended up having local dealer install, did a good job and was about $800 under another dealers quote. For those concerned about the navigation volume, don't be, you can turn it up when directions are being read and the volume is plenty loud.
So far decent system, only grip is no auto day/night setting, at least that I can find. |

Also, I am reading through the little information available and getbmwparts.com is claiming "Free Map Updates via http://www.integrated-navigation.com", but when I go to the website, they are selling maps and traffic upgrades |

$1280...I went onto integrate-navigation.com and was able to download a free software update...there were no map updates. for $39.99 I could have downloaded enhanced RMS Traffic data, whatever that means...

Hi all,
Today my car got an SW update in order to be able to code HO NAVI correctly. Before I did the coding only via the CAFD files. Differences I figured out so far: (before / after) ZBE2 (controller) was not codeable (no CAFD) / now it is codeable (CAFD available) Mute behaviour: A telephone call was interrupted by navigation messages and the call did not recover (very annoying) / during a telephone call the navigation messages are played in the background simultanously to the call Now the system is integrated perfectly! Audio Problem
Hello, all --
I have the system installed in my 2015 320i. Everything operating correctly except the audio. I have a problem that seems to be different than those previously described. The system does interrupt the radio (or whatever is playing) when it wants to give an audible instruction/announcement. Turning up the volume does not solve the problem - doing so just yields unintelligible static. I’ve got it muted for now so it doesn’t drive me crazy, but I want it to work properly. Any thoughts? Also, I have the nav. unit installed in the glovebox per BMW's instructions. I find that it generates a significant amount of heat. Has anyone else notice this? Thank you. |

I think that is the standard behaviour.
When I listen to radio or other music, audio is muted completely. A call will not be interrupted. During a call you can hear the navigation in the background. BR Radair |

Thanks. The problem, though, is that I get no intelligible audio from the nav. unit. It interrupts whatever is 'on' (radio, etc.) but it is impossible to hear/understand the nav. instruction/announcement - all I get is unintelligible static.

I got an email from BMWUSA about this retrofit Nav for the wife's X3.
How difficult is it to install? Does it come with installation instructions? Is it plug and play or do I need to take it to the dealer for some computer programming? I asked the local dealer and they wanted $1275 +tx for it (parts and labor). They claim it takes 6 to 8 hours to install and program. Thanks! |

Non responsive controller after install
I just installed this kit and did the coding but the controller does not work. I added NAVI to HO_WORT. Not sure if I was supposed code another ecm besides the head unit and the cmb_media.I had a entry level controller and a HU_entry head unit. I got the kit from GetBMWParts and they made sure the kit was compatible with my vin although my build date is right edge between the newer version and the older version of the unit. Not sure what is the problem. Any suggestions?

Ok I figured it out. The cable that connects the controller to the navi box is faulty. The connector that plugs into the navi box has a case around it. The contacts where making interment connections (I have to push hard on the plug to make the connection). I just pop the case off of it and plugged it in and voila it works. Problem solved. Still I will try to get a replacement cable from the dealer I bought it from.

I am having the same problem of the TMC info display on route being grayed out during navigation. I am receiving TMC info when I select main menu-> Settings->Traffic. And it is picking up radio stations under the advanced settings for traffic. No TMC icon on the bottom of the screen... Anyone else have this problem or figured it out?

Hello,
First of all, thank for major information about retrofiting to this integrated navigation. I just buy this equipment from a friend (upgrade to bimmertech), and i am gooing to instal in a ex-oficial BMW repairman (It costs € 250 to install). BMW refused to install used equipment ( well stupid, but what can i said)!! I have a question about this equipment?! -Can anyone tell me if this unit have Portugues language for navigation? -Can i use the voice command, any chance to code for using voice command in this unit? -I did not understand if i can use a 8.8 screen for integrated navigation! What I realized with 8.8 screen is, everything work except the Navigation! Is this correct? Best regard Carlos |
