Completed

I have sport seat with side support but not lumbar support.
I googled relevant topic and know it is doable.
I have no experience in wiring.
Can dealer do this? Or third-party shop?
How much will this cost?

is it possible to just buy the pad(airbag-ish thing) and
Instead of connecting the other end of tubes to electric pump, connect them to a manual (squeez ball, manually squeez air into the pad ) pump ball?

I have done this before. Bought the kit from a guy in Ebay france.

That yellow adapter is the key. You need to order it from BMW, one that includes wiring for lumbar support.

The guy I bought it from even ask me if I had heated seats, Coz it also has different yellow adapter.

Sadly I sold the car with it. I did not have electric seats though.

Here are some pix I took of my install last year last year.

The one f3x uses (52107284041) is about 260 dollar, why?? It included pump and valve???
I just need the pad since i am converting it to manual squeeze.
Does it matter what one i get?

I'm not sure TBH. But he said the yellow adapter has a wiring for the side switch (pump control).

You probably wont need it if you do a manual pump. But the airbag (lumbar bag) has 3 settings. Basically a lower side only inflates, upper bag and both lower and upper inflates, which are all controlled by the electric switch on the side. So not sure how can control that with a manual pump without having a 3 way manual separator control as well if that makes sense.

I have to tell you that if you over inflate the top bag, it kind of give more back pain than back support. That is where the electric control comes into play. It can control the the amount of air that goes into which section of the bag, unless of course you have 2 pumps with release valve like whats being use in BP apparatus.

I did it yesterday. I connect upper and lower to 2 pumps. I basically just need the lower, so I just pump the lower one and feel good
