You can't read them from your phone. You will need to set it up through BMW Online to read the email directly from the server. I haven't bothered for the reason.

As Richard says but here is a previous post of mine on another thread

I agree the dealers are clueless about what functionality the pro nav gives with a mobile phone.

As far as i know , for an iphone 5 at least , car does not synch emails from the phone.
You will need to log into BMW Connected drive

https://www.bmw-assist-login.com/cdp...n?locale=en_UK

and setup up your various email accounts from within there. The Pro Nav drags it's email info from here and not the phone itself.

You select , Office , Email, Set up new email and it verifies the settings too to check it works.

You set up the email in connected drive, go to idrive in the car then enter the email address and password through BMW Online and the emials sync.
I cant see an option for synching with a corporate Exchange server. it works for hotmail and imap servers. The only slight problem I found is there is no underscore symbol on idrive so you cant set up an email address if there is an underscore in it !

My test messages sync with the car and display in Office on the idrive but only those sent/received whilst the phone is synced with bluetooth.

It works for me but others may know more about how email/texts really work.
