When I drive gently in Sport Mode, not too fast, quick gear changes getting into 6th gear by 40-45 mph, I can get 24 mpg. All highway on cruise control in ECO it usually gets ~28mpg.
Not bad for a 5 second 0-60 6 cylinder engine!

Hi,
I have 2014 F30 with 41K miles on it and use Fuel Buddy on my Samsung phone to track MPG & some other auto related expenses. Car's average MPG currently is 30.3; get about 34 on highway & 24 around town. On highway, I'm I'm Eco mostly (except entrance ramp usually Sport); around town mix of lSport & Eco |

I'm curious what speeds people drive at. I got a 340 xdrive 6mt and I usually average 16.5-19.5 mpg mix of highway and city. I drive always in sport with only the drivetrain performance and shut off the chassis. but I drive hard with an average speed of 75-110. those of you who get 25+ mpg do you feather the gas or drive eco a lot or keep your speed to 70 or less?

Just went through another tank: 276 miles, 13.6 gallons. 20 MPG. Just over 200 miles were driven exclusively in the city in Sport Mode, while what little highway I drove I did so in Eco Pro.

I drive in Sport, do ~50/50 city/hwy driving, the odometer just past 4000km yesterday and I'm averaging 9.3L/100km (25.3 US mpg) and consistently get more than 600km per tank. This is in cooler weather as well (less than 10°C or 50°F) so I might get better mileage as summer eventually comes around... if I don't start driving it harder with the nice weather that is, lol
I do down shift a lot when I drive; I try to predict ahead and let the engine slow the car down when approaching turns, traffic, traffic lights, etc. No sense braking only 50m before... just adds to the fun of driving the car and the growls are so addictive to hear

2014 F30 328i.
Average over 28 months and about 46k miles is a little over 27 mpg (US). Driving mix is probably 80% highway but much of that is slow and go Bay Area commuting traffic up and down 101 (average speed is rarely better than 30 mph) City mileage is 15 or so but that is mostly in San Francisco so there are significant hills involved. Driving to LA we generally see 32 - 33 mpg with a fairly heavy foot. |

8000KM on new 340i, use car to commute to work and drive the kids around, some traffic, some highway, mostly city/urban. 90% Comfort mode, 10% Sport Mode. About 5000km was driven in winter as well.
I never reset the computer, I have avg 8.8l/100km which converts 26.73 US MPG I typically get 625-640km on a tank (~400 Miles)

I just drove to/from Grayling, MI to Philadelphia, PA (1500 miles total) in a '14 328i Sport Line. Got 31 MPG, and I'm really happy.
Up north on I-75 where there was very little traffic, put it into Eco Pro mode with the cruise set for 80 MPH. Car just sailed effortlessly. Very happy. |

My company pays for my fuel so it's not like I'm trying to get great MPG but this is how my last 6 months have looked...
