Will dealer replace interior trims under warranty?

After I pickup the car I notice there are hairline scratches on the anthricite trim (the shifter area piece)...is this cover under warranty?

Is very noticable in the sun

Why is it any different than a scratch in your exterior paint? This is not a warranty issue; it's wear and tear.

You can scratch it it 30 seconds. If it was done prior to delivery the dealer would have to fix it, but you'd have to have noted it when you got the car.

Yeah... Unfortunate to say op, but it looks like you are gonna be out of luck. You could always still try and ask. Maybe they'll go halfsies.

Like Billfitz said, if you had noted it at time of delivery, they would have had to fix it.

May it's just me but scratches like that don't really bother me. It's a car, scratches are unavoidable.

From the looks of the photo they can probably be buffed out. I think someone has even posted on products to do it, either here or on the 'fest. If you believe the scratches were there when you took delivery it certainly is reasonable to ask the dealer to address the issue.

What'd you go to the dealer for at 2 weeks? I make it point to let anyone else drive the car as least as possible. Never know what scratches or scuffs they'll inflict.

+1 Agree with this. The scratch will still be there in 3 months when you start hearing squeaks in your dash/door/seat or where ever they are appearing these days.

If it's 2 weeks old, they might swap it out as a courtesy, not as a warranty item.

I have similar issues and asked the dealer if they'd repair the trim. In my case there was a random hairline crack on one of the buttons. Dealer said the warranty does not cover interior trim.

Service advisor also said that they are allowed to grant a goodwill fix occasionally, so if I really wanted to she could put that in. But, it's a minor thing so I didn't want to "waste" a goodwill fix on something like this.

All it takes is a little grit in your cleaning rag and you will see scratches.

Dealer should fix as goodwill.

How can it be wear and tear after just 2 weeks.

Most likely the dude or dudette that prepped your car had a soiled rag and wiped down your car.

Inside rags for inside and outside rags for outside.

A scratch on trim won't be replaced by the dealer. I also had the hairline cracks on the radio buttons, they replaced that under warranty no questions asked.

You should be able to polish the scratches out with Novus plastic scratch remover. I did with my burlwood trim. Google it or look on eBay. Good luck.

I've owned a lot cars with wood trim, and a grand piano at home. The finish will pick up hairline scratches just from breathing on it. You can drive yourself nuts worrying about it.

If you really must buff it out, use a new microfiber towel and plastic scratch remover as others have mentioned. For regular cleaning we use McGuire quick detailer on our piano as recommend by our piano repair guy. Toss your used microfibers early and often as they retain dust and grit and will quickly start causing more harm than good.

In my previous cars (I have aluminum trim now) I learned to just leave well enough alone.
