Suspension advice please.
I've ordered my 330d M Sport and deleted the M Sport Suspension option (no cost).
Having driven a 320d with standard suspension and 18" wheels, I found the ride and handling to be very good. I was advised by the dealer that with M Sport Suspension, the ride would be harder due to the lower and stiffer suspension settings. My question is this: Would the M Sport Suspension with the Optional Adaptive dampers (cost £515) set to 'comfort' give me the same overall ride comfort as the standard suspension? |

The suspension options confuses me. I went for Adaptive Dampers. The options say that it is not available with M suspension so I would assume it would be an auto delete and for the msport the cost is £515 and not the normal £750 in other models. Reading the reviews, all mags say it transforms the car although the standard setup I drove last week was very impressive.

The Adaptive Suspension is a must IMHO and you just select this on the options if you go for M Sport no need to delete anything, also remember the new run flats only do 50 to 60 miles as side walls not so firm on this version they used to do 100 miles flat

With M Sport Cars which come with M Sport Suspension, Adaptive costs £515 If you delete M Sport Suspension, it costs you nothing. If you then add Adaptive M Sport Suspension it still only costs you £515 as it is an M Sport car. If it is not an M Sport car then it will cost you £750. N'est-ce pas? |

I'm not really that bothered especially as I have ordered the adaptive
suspension anyway and it seems most people agree it is definitely the correct option. Only saying I found suspension options a bit confusing. Speaking French is a nice touch if a tad patronising. |

I don't think it was meant to be patronising. Made me chuckle which I'm sure was the intent

Not meant to be one bit. I felt a bit like Hercule Poirot that day! Strange how Adaptive Suspension can affect one.

After all that, I've ordered the Adaptive M Sport Suspension as the ride in 'comfort' mode is truly terrific!.

Honestly? I think the clue's int he title. There's M Sport Suspension and Adaptive M Sport Suspension. The latter is adaptive. It adapts.

I know I was only being flipant but really? That questions been both asked and answered a billion times on this forum and the answer can be found with a very sinple Google search or by just looking on the BMW website or a BMW brochure.
I was just flat out amazed that question was being asked You only have to get as far as "F30 ada" in Google and it fills the rest in for you ... Anyh00 - AMSS is best of both worlds. You get to choose your stiffness and each damper is adjusted on the fly to keep the car falt. It's a must have for anyone witha back who's not American.

For me it was a no-brainer. i like to have the M Sport suspension but then when I'm just pootling to the shops or droning up and down the motorway, I can set everything to the softer setting for a more comfy ride. It's actually much ,much more cleverer than that but that's the simplified version
