Yeah, thats kinds of how I feel at the moment. Loved my Tiag E90, but really want a change.

ST Blue has always been a fav of mine btw

In fact I've just recently been testing with the tyre pressures and by up'ing them slightly, the handling seems a little better still.

The new 245 bhp engine has a slightly different power delivery. The power on the old one does come in a bit more abruptly so feels quite punchy. The new engine is slightly more linear but does still pull well. The new one does feel slightly quicker, but its a job to tell. I bought my current car brand new so its a job to compare a old 60K miles with a new one that needed to be run in. Also, its getting better all the time and now done just over 7k miles. Even the dealer said this engine needs a good 8K before it comes alive and this has also been said by the guys on e90post.

One thing I did notice is first gear off the mark is quite rapid compared to the old one. I guess that one of the reasons how they got the 0-60 down 0.5 sec.

Note also, both cars were/are 6sp manual.
I am afraid the 330D is a new engine coming out soon, no one has driven it hear yet. 258BHP/560Nm

PS) estoril II and beige leather is what I have ordered on my 330D M Sport touring.

I would hope the press would like to get their hands on it being the fastest (0-60) 3 series diesel ever built so far.

Should be looking forward to a few reports/reviews on the 'net.

Interesting thread and lovely Silver 330d!

Btw, read your post in the link above re: brakes - i really wouldn't worry about standard BMW or especially 330d brakes - they really are very very good 'road brakes', with great feel and feedback. The same cannot be said, say for a fast Audi's.

The next upgrade the e90 guys would do, is move to braded hoses and uprated Brake fluid. The hardcore track guys never rated the BMW performace kit, and then moved to Brembo's

The 335D was announced as being cancelled earlier this year and BMW never mentioned a 340D so there's n reason to believe there ever would be one. It would be M3 quick as well so they could never sell it

Don't believe it sorry mate. BMW released the 330d first last time (on the e90) let that bed in, then released the 335d.

There is a f30 335i, so there will defo be a 313bhp 35d (335d or 340d).

M3s are in the 4s to 60s, so the 335d will still be slower at 5s

Even the new 5er has the new 313 bhp 535d now....

OK so the fact that BMW announced in February that they were cancelling the F30 335D in favour of more hybrid models is irrelevant yeah?

I couildn't believe it either but it's not like they need one. The current 30D is faster than the old 35D in any situation anyway. And more economical.

Hi all,

I'm a new member here. Used to have a 3.0L Z4 which I sold in March, been driving a sensible car since then but got bored...... so I now have a 330D booked for delivery in 2 weeks!!

I went for EBII, beige, xenons, burr walnut, HK sound, standard 18" rims and sun protection glass. Set myself a budget so didn't tick anything else.

Can't wait!!!!!!

I think you may be referring to the US market which is not so diesel focused as Europe?

The 335d - it's the performance diesel engine for BMW (eg 535d, 640d and at some point 335d).

The current e9x335d is only 0.2s of a second quicker than then e9x 330d

Thanks. I placed the order through my work scheme in mid June. They use the Park Lane dealership in London for all orders. Apparently they are quite good when it comes to securing early build slots so the car is in the UK and scheduled for delivery on 7 September. I think it will be one of the first 330D's in the UK!
