I am thinking about building a new 2018 340i xdrive fully loaded. This will be my first time buying a new car as I have always bought used. I currently own a 2014 328i xdrive but iv'e always wanted the 340i and now i can afford it.

Any advice on this process?

What specific advice you need? The process of buying a car should be pretty straightforward, especially a fully loaded one. Tick every box in all options, go to dealer (or email), order one, wait for about 3 months, and delivery day. Since you've owned a BMW before, so you should know that it is not cheap to maintain (compared to other economy sedans), especially if you're getting a fully loaded one with all the bells and whistles.
