Update on my case.... 🤣 "hdd" rattle comes from scratched cd inside cd tray.🤣🤣 hu was struggling to read cd. I have a car for more than one year and i never put a cd in it. I found some cd stuck inside from previous owner. 🤣

Any cloning software will work.

Looks like AOMEI Backupper Standard should get the job done. I've never used this software. I haven't had the need to do this in many years and software I used is now obsolete.

What did they change with Evo to make it that simple, and why is plain NBT a pain in comparison? Did they not lock the drives?

Drives are still locked with Evo, but Evo is easier going with the SMART temperature variable which makes it a lot less picky with replacement drives.

Unlocking the drive isn't too difficult to do once you've figured the process out but it's still a bit of a pain in the ass.

Anyone know if this process will keep aftermarket carplay working? I have a 2016 F80, I had mine coded with carplay after the fact.

I wanted to do the hard drive replacement but I don't wanna deal with it yet. If I were to just pay a remote coder, is it just as simple as replacing the drive and then they do everything remotely?

I bought 2 Kingston 240GB SSD hard drives. I can't train them anymore.

I need help to re-inject all the code into my NBT EVO ID5. I made a big mistake when I wanted to replace my hard drive using ssh via Putty.

Instead of deleting the disk partitions, I probably deleted the memory of my NBT EVO. pffff I'm disgusted.

It doesn't restart anymore, black screen and it seems like it restarts all the time...

So my NBT system has been randomly rebooting, figured it was the hard drive and attempted to replace it with one of the Toshiba 500G disks others have been using. Booted up QNX on an old PC and ran create_hdd -i. As near as I can tell everything was created fine. Put the disk back in the NBT and let it boot up. It seemed to boot up fine, bluetooth appears to be working, but navigation was stuck at loading. So I figured I'd load the map via USB, plugged it in and nothing happened. Tried a media USB, nothing happened. Pulled the hard disk out again and looked at it in QNX. It's not locked, but the partition table is trashed and fdisk in QNX can't fix it. So it looks like this disk is toast. Before I go ruin another disk trying again, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

That is odd - your partitions before putting it in the car look correct, exactly like the drives I've prepared so I don't think there's anything wrong with the process there.

What NBT unit do you have?

Have you tried the drive in Windows to see if that can see anything or delete the partitions? Maybe open up a Command Prompt and run Diskpart. Use 'list disk' to see what drive number it is, then 'select disk x' to choose the drive number and try a 'clean' to get rid of all partitions.

Hi Zheez, the drive is not readable under windows anymore, I get device not ready errors. I even tried using a few USB booted disk recovery programs and none of them can access the drive anymore. The only thing that still accesses it is QNX, but it freezes if I try to delete the partitions.
