F30 M-Sport Summer 2012? To wait or not to wait?

Is it true that the F30 M Sport upgrade is not going to be available in the US until Summer of 2012? If this is true, who is going to wait another 6 months for the M Sport and who can live without it and will place orders in February?

Good things come to those who wait.

I love the M-sport additions to the polarizing new front end. As for the steering wheel? I think if I can get it without the color on it, it will be kick a**. If not, meh... because I love the traditional round horn but not the gaudy chrome and color trim.

I'm waiting for July to order my ED for 3 reasons:
1. M-Sport is worth the wait.
2. Hope they change the headlights and the Navigation box
3. Any other bugs

You'll be waiting a long time...I highly doubt the 335d will be available with xDrive

I am not getting the M-Sport package specifically because the steering wheel is horrendous. I'd much rather buy the exterior M-Sport kit after the fact than sacrifice the looks of my interior

Hate to tell you, but you're smoking something if you think they're going to make any design changes 6 months after releasing a new model.

Dammit, so my hopes of the Morgan 3 Wheeler having a 4th wheel in a few months are slim?!

It seems to me that most of M Sport is cosmetic. Except for the M Sport shifter (for manual) and the optional M Sport brakes.

I'd wait, and would want to read some reviews first.

I think I will not wait. Probably go with the Sport with the M Sport suspension. Looks like while MSport will not be available until summer. The M Sport suspension will be an option for November ordering.

They'll start building M-Sport cars in July 2012 (which is also switchover to 2013 model year).

Personally, I think it's worth the wait. Just to mention a few reasons, there's Estoril Blue II, sportier bumpers and that adorable M Sport steering wheel. You surely can't go wrong with e.g. a Sports line F30 but the M Sport just seems to be better.

Best regards,
south

So the m-sport version will be model year 2013 from july, thats great . Have you seen the color Estoril Blue II in real life? Mineral grey and Estoril Blue II is two of my favorite colors.

Yea, I've seen Estoril Blue II in real life (see this thread), and it looks stunning on the F30. It's similar to Monte Carlo Blue.

Best regards,
south

I would like to see any M-sport version, especially the 3er, to have more exclusive components. I still can't figure out why they charge ~$3000 for cosmetic changes.

Has BMW ever offered a Msport suspension option? if so how much was it?

What would it offer over a basic sport suspension?

So you would rather pay over $2k for the body kit as opposed to the $750 or so to replace a steering wheel?

That doesnt make sense.

Who knows what wheels will be interchangeable and how much it'll cost considering changing airbags, trims, etc..
