Is it possible to code LC on a 2013 328ix built 04/13 N26 8sp auto. After researching there is still confusion about the build dates and what needs to be done exactly.

Is it as simple as-

EGS 3000 SPORTSHALTER >aktiv
EGS 3000 LC >aktiv

?????

Also can it be done through Carly app or only E-sys?

Thanks!

With an xdrive, seems like you can just hammer the throttle without worries

I have LC on my car...have NEVER used it once in the almost 2yrs I've had the car....

I have a '14 N26 engine with Launch Control. Once I read the warnings about engine/component wear, I decided not to try it.

Your fastest launch will be with all the nannie's off so no launch control, it's also the fastest way to wrap yourself around a tree but that is much less likely to happen with xDrive. Good hunting!

Id love to see a recent video of this "launch Control". I too have it on my 328 xdrive sportline, however have never tried it out due to risk of wear and tear. However, i am still under warranty and have certification warranty until 2021

There are bone stock N20/N26 engines that blow up under 100k miles, and there are N20/N26 with FBO and Stage 3/4 tunes that are rock solid at same mileage. No one can reliably say whether your specific engine will blow due to DP + Tune. However, as a rule of thumb, there are no "free rides"...... more power = more stress = higher chance of issues.

That being said, DP + Tune is perhaps the "go to recommended" modification for cheap and easy power (at least as a starting point). A lot of people are running it and have had minimal issues ...... So it would appear to be a fairly "safe" mod (especially if you upgrade the other parts as well, such as new charge pipe, new FMIC, oil catch can, etc).

For what it's worth, the guys on The Grand Tour called "Launch Control" a dumb and useless feature (Season 1, Episode 11)
