Their marketing department really does need to stop giving these "lines" weird metrosexual names. I mean, the top of the line M760LI V12 Excellence was monumentually bad and now this stuff...Purity...really? That word doesn't evoke a sense of luxury in me...it makes me feel icky...I need a shower now!

Aside from that nasty plastic all around the shift lever I think the 3/4ers interior has held up from a quality standpoint, But the design is boring and looks little different from the E90 which was released in 2005 for pete's sake. When a car is redesigned people want to sit inside it and feel like they're in a new product. Save for the 3-series, when you sit inside any of these entry-level luxury sedans they feel very different compared to their predecessors.

BMW did not push the buck forward with the F30's interior (or anything about the car save for tech) one bit compared to the previous generation, and the result is lackluster reviews and needing goofy named special editions to keep sales afloat. I have zero reason to ditch my E90, as the current 3-series is an inferior car and no modern car save for Porsche are as fun to drive. BMW has lost my business.

I love hearing people's reason why they don't have the current generation of BMW. Always makes me smile. It's a money thing for you. I get it. You work hard for it and you don't want to spend it on an F30. Keep telling yourself that it's hardly different than your E90...

Exactly. They did it with the Pure Metal Silver M5 and the M-Performance M6. They try to spice it up while they build the last of the F30.

They come with a new color and some headlights and people are upset? No wonder the brand wants to cleanse from its current situation...

So much on hate on this little refresh, its not even the lci. These changes are made across the range (1er, 2er, 3er, 4er) and different models get different treatment. F20 gets the whole new dash, for example. F30 is quite good in its current form, so it gets very subtle changes. I do adore the C-class' interior, and no doubt A4's interior build quality is better than f30's, but do you really buy a car just to look at interior? F30 is still very relevant as a whole package, at least here in Russia it is very popular.

Reading current gen criticism from prev gen owners is always a funny thing. I hope i will not be like this when g20 comes out lol.

The changes aren't horrible (at least reading/looking at them online). However, those names are just terrible .... What exactly does Shadow or Purity describe or mean ?

As for comparing the F30 vs E90 interiors, I personally thing that the F30 interior is an upgrade over the E90, and is the primary reason I got the F30 over E90. Of course if you compare a fully loaded E90 to a base F30, the E90 will have much nicer interior, but compare similarly specced interior, the F30 is an upgrade (imo).

How about x3? It used to lack front cam as well. A lci facelift gave it x5/6 liked 360 bird eye view. Why not f3x?

They should've just done this for the LCI and called it a day. This looks like it's going to be a one year model run. The changes are nice but its kind of a slap in the face to LCI owners. I can't say how well it'll sell either given that the G20 is on the horizon.

It think these look more than just a little different.

F30 Interior

E90 Interior

Unlike the previous 3 Series. The E90's driver side door didn't even match the passenger side door. The grab handles in particular.

I had a E46 and E89 and now and F30. I skipped the E90 because it looked bland and boring. I find the F30 to be a much better car overall.

You are comparing SUVs to Sedans. The larger cars have front view cams because they are longer in the front which makes it hard to see objects when parking and cross traffic on some turns.

The reasoning is that you don't have to on a F30 like sedan because of the seating position and size of the car.
