I got this exhaust used off another member. I haven't installed it yet, I will try to get some sound clips in March when I install it

Doesn't seem like alot of people jumped on this exhaust as I can't find anymore sound clips.

Loving the look though..
probably because it barely sounds different from stock. go for the MPE if you're in the market.

Well i suppose people say the same for the MPE.
I hear sound clips of MPE that sound great but then so many mix reviews.

If I got the MPE or the DINAN exhaust, I would be tempted to add AWE's mid-pipe to liven things up.

Its just odd to me as DINAN, as big as they are, seem to not really push or advertise their stuff very well, at least for 328i.

I mean, you would think they would sell it with a bunch of pics installed, more sound clips...or at least one that doesnt have some horrible rattle that comes out of no where!

valid point, they're marketing could use a boost. personally, I love the MPE and think it sounds great, better in person than in video, and I'm sure some would say the same for the Dinan system. really boils down to personal preference. However, if you really want you're car to scream, the MPE is not for you, it's more subdued and not the most aggressive setup out there. that being said, I've also been thinking about a mid-pipe for more sound out of my MPE, but then I'm reminded that I could get a DP for less money, more power and probably more sound. also keep in mind you can get you're MPE on eBay for $700-$800. definitely don't buy whatever system you do get from Dinan or BMW directly.

It is a very civilized exhaust, which I am a fan of. Currently, I only have the axle back

Out of curiosity, how much did volume increase? Doesn't sound too too much louder, but I can clearly tell tone is certainly improved.

I plan on writing up a full review in a week or so after I plenty of time behind the wheel. Ill be including a review of the DINAN sport that should arrive today as well

But in short..
Volume increased over stock but not as loud as AWE or some others. Not a ton but for sure noticeable. Most noticeable in lower RPMs as what really changed was the tone. MUCH deeper than stock. Though after 4K or so the deep tone reduces and engine noise takes over similar to stock with a tad more volume (at least from the drivers seat, im sure its louder outside). WOT shifts are loud and sound amazing.

Nice! Yah, it's definitely a deeper tone, sounds good and I'm sure even better in person. I've never been able to capture my MPE on video.

I've also felt the same with the MPE, after about 4k rpm, the exhaust is still definitely louder than stock, but engine sound starts to take over unfortunately. I've found folding down the backseats actually helps that a lot The exhaust is very audible even at high rpm with the rear seats down, give that a try lol. It also lets you really hear the snaps on WOT shifts.

Haha thats funny.
Yea even though engine noise takes over at high rpms, i have no issue hearing the exhaust pop during the gear shifts. That part is loud and a huge difference over stock. Its my favorite part about the exhaust.

Depending how long I keep it, I might add a midpipe or downpipe to play around with the sound

Yah lol definitely give it a try.
I've been thinking about a downpipe for a while, but I don't want my car to be too loud, especially since I'm moving to a more compact neighborhood later this summer. It's also just so hard to know how it will sound, like I said before, videos never do exhaust sounds justice.

you should be fine. Downpipe + BM3 will be a huge gain in performance.
Just code out cold start and im sure you will be ok.

Yah, if I went with a downpipe, I'd also go FMIC and full stage 2, basically FBO. We'll see if I put my money where my mouth is one of these days I would definitely have to code out cold start, I guess that would calm things down.
