Still waiting for you to explain why. Despite an overwhelming out of evidence and support that says it is normal and not harmful, you still disagree, yet won't explain why it's harmful. All it does is make you seem like you have no evidence that it's harmful.

For background for those not informed, this guy believes that the DV+ flutter is not normal. When asked for proof, he failed to provide any and resorted to personal attacks and then blocked me.

Here's more proof for you. Dzenan runs PTF. Is he wrong, too?

Even full blow compressor surge isn’t THAT bad. There are many people that don’t run bovs

Also, it doesn’t affect the motor. Just the turbo

Even if he comes back to comment, which I doubt he will, don't even try, dude. At least with you and I, we came to a respective standing. This guy? Not a hell in chance. He's the type of guy who hurls personal attacks when he loses, rather than admit he's wrong. I wouldn't trust him with a lawnmower.

But exactly. At most we're talking about killing the turbo. Shows how much he knows. Oh well. You cannot educate everyone I suppose.

Mine arrived as well.

Assuming everyone is planning to install with the spring for the first go around, correct?

Was reading the paper it came with that describes the differences.

Would hate to have to take everything apart again to remove spring.

Also... picked up the following from harbor freight. Is there anything else I may need?

So long as those are thin enough to get in there, you could do without loosening the manifold of course.

As for the spring, that is up to you and everyone else. All it comes down to is: Do you want or care about the occasional flutter when you release low boost buildup? If yes, install. If no, don't install. Simple as that. I personally think it sounds cool and even better when I'm going through the hills and release it high gear, low RPM/low throttle. If you don't like it or find it tacky, you can remove the spring but at that point, why install at all? If your stock DV is torn, then I could see why; otherwise, you're wasting your time because the DV+ will operate the same as the stock one. The DV+ is there to provide a stiffer spring and only one hole vs 6-7(Whichever number it is. Might be 8).

Sorry to rant, just surprised that people (not you, SSpade) are reluctant to do their own research and prove flutter harmful, despite the overwhelming amount of evidence and support from engineers.

For the three of you installing their DV+ this week or soon-ish, just ensure that one, it's authentic of course. Two, when you are driving, ensure that you aren't getting any leaks or flutter while you are still on the throttle or after high boost release (I'm talking WOT, raising to 6k RPM and release)

I assume the spring is to prevent boost leak at higher boost.

Yes and also to ensure the lowest amount of boost escapes on shifting. Once you install it, you'll notice your shifts kick a little harder.

sort of off topic, but I noticed that my shifts are actually quite harsh and I have done nothing to my transmission, it's a stock non 2TB unit and I don't have a DV+. in sport mode on the transmission, especially at the drag strip, it feels like an SMG single clutch almost. it really kicks like a bitch. if I can I'll try to get a video of it if I can, probably gonna be hard to show on video though. is this normal? do your guys shifts give you any sort of kick?

I don’t think the car has an active rev match so it might explain why it shifts hard. Mine is kind of rough in sport mode.

idk, it seems on manual downshifts it sort of rev matches . that would only apply to downshifts though no? I'm talking about a kick on WOT upshifts.

True. Mine really isn’t that rough. Maybe it’s time for a fluid change

Not sure TBH. I was a non-2TB originally and just coded it in. I forget what life was like before that... Lol. I mean, you could try a drain-n-fill on the tranny and see. You could also just code in 2TB and see if it helps.

both good suggestions, thank you. I have to take it in for service soon and I'll ask to have them check it out and do a fluid change.

If not, it's time to find a patch of concrete. Lol.
