have you driven a 328i? that engine has plenty of power. it would be like maybe .3-.5 seconds slower than your 335i.

Take those test drives quickly then!

You might have buyers remorse if u don't. Trust me even coming from 328i E90, I m not fully convinced the new 4cyl turbo motor makes me happy, I m ready to get a 335i F30.

Test drive mate, test drive!

I would test ride for sure before making the deal final. While I have no doubt that the 428/328 4cyl. is a good motor for me the bottom line was not about how fast the car could go in the 1/4 but more about that nice feeling I get when I hit that accelerator and the car takes off like a big bird. Low end on the 335 is sweet and sounds awesome. I drove the 328I and 335I before buying and for me it was the 335I that was the clear cut winner. I'm sure that the 328 owners will say different and that is fine. That is why we should all drive each car before making such a big investment. This way you get what you like and not what others tell you is best because that will always be very subjective. Good luck with your new ride which ever you choose.

428 is slightly more than 100lbs heavier than the 328.

There is no question the 428 is going to be a great car. And the res, at .63, is great. Care to share your negotiated sale price (i.e. discount off MSRP)?

I love the N55 motor and have chosen it for my past two rides. But really, the N20 is strong and powerful and I can't imagine being disappointed by it in any way.

Honestly, I'd probably go with 428 over 435 just to save some $$. The 4 series is so aesthetically beautiful you'll probably forget about the power train altogether (not really, but tell yourself that anyway).

I traded e92 N54 for f30 328.
Every night before I go to bed I tell myself it was the right decision.

According to BMWUSA.com 328xdrive (with its rear doors) has a more even front/rear weight distribution than a 428xdrive.

I would prefer BMW's global website:

dealer knocked off $1000 off msrp and also another $1000 for staying with BMW... been with BMW for 9yrs now. i think $500 was from cash rebate or something.

Is .63 really good? i thought that wasnt that great....

Test drive the 328i, it might be a deal breaker.
You will be getting less power with no real weight savings (428@3470lbs vs 335@3545lbs vs 435@3610). The coupes are notoriously heavier across the board, unusual as that may seem. But your power to weight ratio goes down.

If I had to have a 4, I'd get the 435. There was no comparison on the 328 and 335 power wise and the 335. Both are nice, but unless you looking for higher gas mileage, I think you will regret loosing that much power.

To me it wasn't about 1 sec quicker in 0-60. It was about the way it delivers power. Effortlessly in comparison.

Re the residual. Assuming this is 36 month/10,000 per year, I don't think you'll do much better than 63%. I think mine was 64% for 335. I would expect coupe to be less because it's a brand new model. What is the money factor? If it's around 0.00127 you're in good shape.

BTW BMWs in general have very high residuals. Audi S4 for example is much closer to 50%, making it a terrible lease deal. Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus have highest residuals, along with BMW, in my experience.

The 335 is noticeably faster than 328, much more so than the 0-60 stats indicate. I was real close to getting the 328 until I drove the 335. You will notice the improved responsiveness and quickness of a 335 every single time you drive it, compared to a 328. If power and quickness is important to you, 335 is the way to go. I expect the 4 series will be the same.

Test drive a 328. While the N20 is more than sufficient and very quick for what it is, if you are used to a 335, might be hard to adjust.

There will be a PPK for the 428, and there are aftermarket tuning options for the N20, but I see no point in making a car payment and feeling like you bought the wrong car.

Cancel if you can. Went from 335 to 328. Regret it after a month so bad.
Pay the extra coin for 435i it's gonna be so worth it
