They need to get back to making a more serious motoring show.

When Top gear was funniest was when the show had some semblance of being a serious motoring show with smatterings of humour thrown in which appeared cheeky and subversive. That's how Clarkson came across on "old topgear", and it's now new top gear started out.

It progressed to become just increasingly daft and lost a lot of its charm in my view.

Thanks for the heads up, and it's my birthday Sunday too!

I hope the new format drops the star in a reasonably priced car. The interview bit is about 5 or 6 minutes long (i.e. 10% of the show) and I'm rarely interested in what some actor has to say about him/herself or their latest movie.

Drop that and do another car review I say.

From reading all the stuff Evans has posted of late, it looks like this element is staying but he also said he wasn't going to do TG so who knows

What? Do a car review? Are you mad? Turn Top Gear into an actual motoring programme that reviews cars? Where will it all end...?

Yes, all three are, potentially on a streaming service but more likely sky or similar, this is pretty much the death of top gear, as as soon as they start their own show, I'll be watching that!

I just can't stand CH or Mr Swan Vestas. He reminds me of a lit match.

agree in the main but the fact it was an entertainment show with cars in it meant all those millions of viewers. For example if it was serious I know the wife would't watch it..
I think if it comes back (or when) this might give it a nice shot in the arm, I think the producer also left the BBC as well so it should be on

I agree, I'm guessing you can thank BBC editing for that to ruin the last show.
