19" 403s

Now that it's been confirmed that my f31 xdrive will have the ride height of a moon buggy I'm regretting not ordering the 19 wheels. I originally speced 18s for comfort but sounds like that wont be an issue and my vanity is coming through

I think I'm way too late to change my order so does anyone know if they are available to buy elsewhere?

Hi, presumably you've seen pictures of xDrives on 18" 400's and am not impressed? I have the 18" on my F30 and to be perfectly honest I think it looks fine. I've also seen threads which complain that there is early signs of corrosion appearing on the 403's. My advice would be to get the car, see what you think and if you really don't like it then pick a set of wheels that you like and fit them. Am sure you'll fetch a decent price for your standard fit ones to offset the cost.

Try this;

http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw...s/3_series_f30

I have not used this place before but according to other users on the forum they are genuine OEM.

Bigger wheels will not make the arch gap look smaller, if anything it will highlight the issue further.

Admittedly I might have overreacted and should wait to see and drive the thing first

Presumably they'll slightly decrease the gap but increase the ride height?

They won't decrease the gap as rolling radius will be the same, they do however create a slightly different optical effect and I certainly would rather see more wheel in there than more tyre.

To be honest if the Xdrive rides a bit higher it will always look a little less sporting than the RWD models. Its a shame that the F30/31 even RWD do look a bit higher than the E90/91 models and then with Xdrive it will look a bit higher again. However this needs weighed against the advantages of the Xdrive system if you value that.

With the number of floods that we have had around here in the last year I think an option to increase the height even more would be good

All these threads are playing on my mind! I've ordered the M Sport xDrive with the 403 M's but tbh there's nothing I can do about the ride height - the xDrive will be well worth it, I think the 400 M's also look good.

I just hope there's not too much roll in the car when cornering? Perhaps our fellow 320i xDrive M Sporters could tell us?

I can say the STD suspension is OK in normal driving, not to much roll, spirited driving will accentuate roll.Hope this helps.

What would a set of immaculate 3 month old 403's with 3000 miles on the tyres be worth?

dunno to be honest, but let me know what you want for them..

in my mind i could have bought them on ordering for £600 extra.. but i guess from BMW parts they would be a couple of grand.

I would say they are worth £1200 to £1400. Won't be a massive market for them because most people who wanted them will have specced them from new.
