UK LCI F30 Adaptive LED

I have just taken delivery of a F30 LCI with the M Sport Plus Pack. This includes LED headlights with High Beam Assist (HBA).

I've seen some of the US members have successfully coded adaptive LED's. However, It seems the capability has always been there but US DOT laws prevent it from being activated.

Is it possible to code Adaptive LED's in euro LCI models with LED headlights + HBA or is there some fundamental hardware missing?

If you have the required hardware, i.e., adaptive LEDs (option code 552) and HBA (option code 5AC), the full adaptive LED functionality should already be enabled on your Euro-spec car.

LED headlights come in two flavors in the uk (and two prices)

LED Headlights (5A2) and HBA (5AC) (With M Sport Plus Pack) This is what I have.

Or, for an extra £850

BMW Icon adaptive LED (552)

All the hardware seems to be there and I was wondering if it was just some coding?

The 5A2 LED headlights are non-adaptive and do not support no-glare high beams. Therefore your HBA can only turn the high beams on/off. Unfortunately, you cannot get around the hardware limitation by coding.

Thanks dmnc02 Oh well, I'll phone the dealer and complain that they should be more considerate to DIY coders and make sure all the kit I could ever want is on the car by default.

My car has standard LEDs + HBA, what else is required apart of the new head lamps to retrofit adaptive LEDs?
