Hello All!

I am a new f30 owner and was wondering if anyone wanted to have a coding day.

It looks like there are a lot of awesome "mods" you can do with some simple coding.

If anyone has a cable and wants to have a mini meet in the SF Bay Area, let's arrange something!

Thanks

Sure, send me a PM and we can set something up.

As a rule I don't touch other peoples cars. What I do is let people use my cable and laptop and walk them step-by-step through connecting, backing up, and then coding.

I don't do this for money; the real work was done by the pioneers of the coding community for which I am very grateful.

I'm happy to be able to help people get the most out of their cars.

If you are handy, you can make one yourself. There are instructions on the coding forum:

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696777

I built my own with this cable from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o01_s00_i00

and a spare shielded Ethernet patch cable I had. It only took about 30 minutes to build and most of that time was triple checking that all connections were correct.

Send me a PM if you are interested in coding your car. I've done several. There are others in SoCal that can code too.

It only takes about 30 minutes and is very easy to do.

I don't know if there are enough SoCal people in the forums to setup a meet.

Anyone else interested?

If you know how to use a soldering iron, it's a piece of cake. You just need to pick up the cable on amazon, get a 4 cent resistor, have a spare patch cable and some shrink tubing and you're all set.
