Looking for Inexpensive tires.
It looks like I need tires again. Current tires are staggered 19's and have been on the car for about 3 years. Looking for stock size replacements: 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear. Checked most of the big sites online and cannot find a price I like. Most tires are around $200 each and figure another $100 for mounting and balancing. That is around $900. I'm looking for a cheaper. Yes I am that guy...

Good luck my friend. Everything is pretty expensive these days, especially tires. Had to buy two for one of our cars last month. And prices are the same from shop to shop, down to the dollar. It could be worse, you could be buying 21" or 22" rubber for your suv and paying twice that much

Cheap tires died when all markets started to use the "supply chain issues / COVID / carbon tax / labor shortage" (insert any other ambiguous BS excuse to keep the prices high).
Jvac nailed it. Just bought 21" rubber for our Audi SUV. That came in at $1800USD installed!!! |

How about used tires to get you through for a year or so? Plenty of options on eBay, Facebook? Etc?
In the area where I live, the “other side of town” has a few tire shops selling used tires. They are all outside displayed as you drive by. Here is one tire I quickly found on eBay (no relation to seller) $46, 225/40-19 Bridgestone with 4.5/32 left on tire https://www.ebay.com/itm/18581243030...mis&media=COPY Last edited by BaconDouble; 12-01-2023 at 07:52 PM.. |

Thank you all for the input. I think AlohaSurf found the best deal out there. I did not find this when I searched tirecrack!!! The generals look good. I'm going to see if a local tire shop can match the price.

I think he means swap left and right wheel without removing the tire. Unless they're directional tires you can do this, although it doesn't really help with tire wear unless you have uneven alignment from side to side. Front to back is a different story since rear is the drive axle (or rear biased in case of AWD)
