Best value - 430d, 435d or 435i gran coupe

Hi, currently got an M135i and love it to bits. But I've got a bit of an interest in a 435 or 430d/435d - maybe for next year. I love the petrol engine and suspect I would struggle to go to a diesel, yet the diesel performance is attractive and the 430 is probably decent value.

Thing is I'm not sure if its even close to being affordable. I've had a look around and it looks like there are some discounts about, but I don't really have a feel for what the general gfv is on these models.

I'm thinking a 4/5k deposit, on a 48 month, 12k pa deal for a 430d/435d/435i with the sport pack.

So is there anyone who could help me get a feel for which of these three models is the best value in terms of monthlies and GFV on a PCP?

If you want VFM then look at the 3 series, much bigger discounts, and 340i is surely the NBT?

Yes, I'm like a dog with a bone until I get the facts I need. Honestly, I could spend months pre-planning the next car, but see when I get domestic stakeholder sign-off, I'm ready, quick as a flash to make the deal.

First is to short list potential replacements, then see if they are actually affordable, then test drive, then watch the market, then wait for her to say 'oh go on then'.

The interesting thing that I'm trying to figure out is that while a 3 or 4 series may cost more, its also likely to have a higher GFV, and therefore, combined with discounts, does it come into range.

Also trying to see if a diesel will have better gfv than a 335/435petrol.

Open to the idea of a 3 series and 3 series tourer too.

What's the rough % achievable discount do you think?

Sort of a strange and weird thought...

But why not just get a car you like the look of, feels great to drive and makes you smile.

Because if that were the case I'd have a 911!

At the moment I have an M135 which is perfect in almost every respect. The only problem is that it can on occasion be a little short on room with two kids and all the stuff that comes with them. So can I afford the next BMW up, with similar performance? - hence the questions.

If you can stomach the mpg side of things then it's an easy choice 335i / 435i.

If living with say 30mpg is not an option, then it's a diesel.

Don't want to upgrade springs etc and don't mind slight drop in power, then it's a 330/430d.

Happy to get ACS etc, then 335/435d

It's not so much the car, it's the options.

The 3 series will give you best discounts overall.

Broadspeed are at the 22% mark for a 335i. Many think LCI stops the discounts, but in my experience this is not true, LCI = last legs.

I'm sure the 4 series LCI is next year... That could also affect your decision. I'm sure LED headlights would be standard and it'll be the 440i too with the B58. Be interesting to know what you decide but I'd try the 340i out first to get a feel of what the engine's like compared to our N55's.

I can't quite believe that the more expensive, more exclusive, sportier 4 series will still have the 35i engine but the 3 series will have the 40i!? Why are they putting it in the 4 series at the same time??
