Uhg, my PPK w/DME is stll being shipped and I don't have an agreed to service appointment yet. Hopefully the SIB also has instructions on how to properly install it without breaking anything.

After driving the car for the weekend I'm blown away. Ive never experienced such a change from a tune. I had dinan on my 550, procede, JB3 and GIAC on my 2008 335 and they don't hold a candle to this tune, it completely transforms so many aspects of the car and the PE sounds unbelievable.

7 hour job, that's over a
1000 in the north east on labor alone

I gave up on daily updates last week....Still don't have my car back...I expected it today, but they were driving to test this morning and triggered a CEL....checked and had a fault indicating a bad oxygen sensor, ordered a replacement for tomorrow...wtf? So...installed DME...fried power distribution module...two IRAP sessions, find a faulty fuel rail pressure sensor..reassemble everything...test drive the car...now find a faulty oxygen sensor. I don't get it...makes me nervous. Anyway, they're waiving the labor for everything, so the install will be free....but still...I would have preferred to pay for the original labor quote and have the car back in one day vs 15 days (assuming it's OK tomorrow).

For those of you that ordered the kit (BMW of El Cajon has it on ebay for $875), do you get some sort of certificate for the tune so the dealership of your choice can do it? I have a 11/12 build so do not need a new DME. It would be nice to order it online and do everything myself except the flash. Thanks

Yes, the red envelope in the kit is the "certificate". They open it, enter the code ,and download apparently....

I think anything more than 1.5 hours for a NON DME and 3 hours for a DME is ludicrous, so BMW better re examine their pricing on installation.

I'm glad I lucked out getting the DME install + Tune (minus stickers, lol) for $188, but I wanted to take the guinea pig approach and see how it shakes out...

Called today. The IRAP session hasn't even started yet!!! Ugh... they are waiting on a time to initiate with BMW. And they didn't provide me a loaner, had to give it back for some reason... Car won't start, so it's all riding on this IRAP session....

I'm sorry for Luke, but I really hope mine doesn.t happen like that. Going to call them again later today for an update.

Man that sucks. They won't even give you a loaner for your troubles?

If you go back a few pages, you'll see that I did that very thing. All I had my dealership do was the flash - it can be done at any dealership, and they will charge you their standard labor rates - usually about an hour, which is what I paid for.

QUOTE "I got the MPE for $1275 installed in Sydney...not too bad i think. Truth is though i can barely tell the difference between stock and MPE, very very small difference. Do you have a price for the PPK inc install?"

That's not a bad price including installation. Was that at a dealer? I've seen it advertised at $1495 for the exhaust alone (ex install).

No quote yet for the MPPK - have emailed my dealer but waiting to hear. To be honest I would be pleasantly surprised if it came in anywhere under about $2.5k-$3k given I have a very early build and will probably need the new DME.

That and the fact that BMW normally completely rips us off on most accessories/mods in Aust...

Also, in 30 mins. I'm scheduled to have the MPPK installed on my '13 335i 6MT w/PE. I've printed out a lot of the helpful insights from this forum to give to my SA. Hopefully I'll get it back this evening!
So my SA called 1.5h ago to tell me that the car will not be ready today. The DME is installed, but tomorrow they are going to setup the IRAP session with help from BMW of Norwell (I'd mentioned to the SA this morning that BMW of Norwell had done this successfully). So hopefully I'll get my car back sometime tomorrow.

And yes, the SA gave me a loaner which I can keep until the job is done.

I have the PPK upgrade coming from a 2011 e90, which was part of a deal I did with BMW. In the negotiation they initially said yep no problem. 15 minutes later they called back and said no deal as the BMW Oz list price was around $5k -the dealer cost was apparently around $3k. (I even spoke to the BMW Australia parts guy to make sure we were both talking about the same thing as I was staggered by the price)

I then pointed them to the North America pricing including official press releases etc, which they acknowledged and then agreed to instal as per the original deal.

Can't wait to hear what crazy price they quote you.

What do you mean by "I have the PPK upgrade coming from a 2011 e90?"

So you're saying the PPK in Oz is $5k retail?

I feel the EXACT same way about the mppk and PE exhaust. I've had Cobb, Procede, and BMS, tunes on an 07 335i. This tune just has a much bigger effect on the entire car. I never in a million years expected it to be this strong and complete. Changes the whole experience.

sport displays

Have you guys ever seen the HP figure spike to a full 320? I've never gotten close. That's not to say I'm not feeling power but curious.

My torque still peaks easier, but never to a full "317" per se (remember I'm MT). It levels out completely at 300. have 2 ticks left (each tick is "8") I've even floored it and it levels out at 300 well before floor-age.

how easily are you guys peaking your displays, and its it in both HP and TQ?

I actually emailed my SA and am going for a ride with the shop foreman tmrw. I know the displays aren't dyno, and a lot people say "well they aren't for real" which to me isn't a good enough answer as to why they won't at least peak. That's pretty much saying BMW made displays for fun and had no intention of them working.

So I called the stealership and they still don't have it ready. So, I have no car, and no loaner. They offered me one late today but tomorrow my friend is driving us in with his e46 M3 so I'll give um one more day! I also mentioned BMW of Norwell. Guilty.

I really couldn't have said it better myself.

I've said it once and I'll say it again - the M PPK absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. It is absolutely incredible. I guess you can't beat BMW's tuning prowess?

Also, I finally made it through the break-in period with my new car today.

This is directed at those of you inquiring about what it's like to combine the M PPK with the M PE:

With the M PPK + M PE, you do not only hear the overrun "pop" during upshifts, you feel it. It caught me by surprise today shifting into 5th and 6th in Sport+ using the paddles. Absolutely sensational feeling.

I've hit the "full" ~330 or so torque and 320 hp....it might be the gearing though.

I have an auto, and you're an MT...try lower hears and floor it, like 3 or 4th gear?
