There may be some way to tell, but again with normal FDL coding nothing is obvious, especially after the coding is removed and the module is returned to the original state. Now if you alter your VO Options, and / or change your Production Date and write it to the car, and do not reverse that, that will easily be discovered. If you flash the firmware on an ECU, which can't be reversed, that may or may not be noticed.
Hi. I just noticed that people were discussing this question I posted earlier.

The werte values I used were from the F30 cheat sheet.

As I originally posted, when I reload a CAFD that was altered, the UNKNOWN and INVALID settings are displayed.

Oddly, the coding changes work perfectly -- that is, the intended modifications are in effect.

To eliminate these errors, I tested by setting values back to the defaults, then reloaded them. There were no errors with defaults. Only the values in the cheat sheet, once entered, saved and coded generated errors on reload.

I haven't coded in a while but I've noticed no ill effects.

I am waiting for BMW to come up with a fix for poor/error prone voice recognition for music search with a USB-connected iPhone. I suspect that would mean a complete reprogramming. I will be curious to see if it wipes my coding changes and if the CAFD files that were marked invalid are also reset as a result of a complete reprogramming.

Until then, I'd sure like to hear what others are experiencing when the re-look at coded files.

I coded alot, both werte values and just changes from aktiv-nicht aktiv etc, never had any error like you described.
Last week the car was in for some issue and they did a software update, I had no problem coding the stuff again. (courtesy of Shawn who was quick to send me the new 48 version of files )

Mind you i had loaded all the default files before I took the car to the dealer. I don't want them to know about me coding at all.

Hi guys,

I'm new here and I'm in the lucky position that most coding issues won't arrise for me: I know my vendor for more than 10 years already and he's pretty fine to code my F30 335ix anything I want, so no software/Laptop/cable messing I could do wrong

However, is there a newer Cheat Sheet for the F30 than the one on the first page from mid June? Before I start bother you about what is possible I would like to have a look at the latest table you have.

Anyplace I can download the Sheet?

Thanks a lot!

I see that in the F10 cheat sheet there are a couple of settings for importing/exporting POIs (NAVI_MYPOI_IMPORT & NAVI_MYPOI_EXPORT).

Has anyone had any luck with these on an F30? If so, any clues as to the format needed? I'd try this myself but my laptop died a couple of days ago and I've got to get it repaired.

Thanks to JEG23, we have Trip Import working using Google

Google Maps is a better and more efficient tool to generate routes than the BMW Navigation System. You have the flexibility to change routes as you wish and select specific roads from point A to point B. The attached manual (and program) describes how you can generate trip files that can be imported into your BMW Nav system. This is possible thanks to the great programing work of our fellow fester, Aussie40d, from the E70 forum. Enjoy.

However, no luck so far on POI import, although it continues to be studied.

Shawn, I only glanced at JEG23s info, but am I correct to assume this will only work on cars with the import trip already, or will it work on our "budget cars" with the cheap navi and no default import from usb/google

What is cheap Navi? I thought you either had 609 Navigation or no Navigation? There is something in between?

In any event, in the U.S. anyway, Trip Import is not enabled by default, and has to be coded on with:

HU_CIC / 3000 / NAVI_TRIP_IMPORT = aktiv

So, maybe you can code this on to.

Yep, you do need the Glovebox USB Port, as it connects straight to the Head Unit's hard drive where the files must be copied to.

Did you get any more time to check if it works for you?

I'll have time to search more in the weekend

Sorry, but no, I have not looked yet. Too busy working on E-Sys ECU Firmware Flashing project and some other things...

It isn't a secret that I am keeping. You can use E-Sys to flash individual ECU Firmware, same as you can with WinKFP for Exx chassis. And while it is known that it can be done, the E-Sys process itself is not understood nor documented, so we are defining it and developing a DIY Guide.

Sorry guys quick question.
I downloaded the psz files that Shawn sent me (by the way Shawn THANKS) but I'm confused as to what to do now. Should I just replace all the older files (drag and drop) or something different.

I don't remember what you got, but:

If you got only the 45 new CAFD's from 48.1, extract them and copy them to folder C:\ESysData\psdzdata\swe\cafd.

If you got the full 48.1 PSdZData, DELETE in its entirety your existing PSdZData folder located under C:\ESysData\ (i.e. C:\ESysData\psdzdata) and REPLACE it with the new 48.1 PSdZData folder. DO NOT copy the new PSdZData folder on top of the old one.
