Pre-set buttons replacement

Hi everyone,

My 1 and 2 preset buttons have a scratch through the number on them so deep that when on, the ambient light shines through. Is it possible to replace the 2 buttons? Or do I have to replace the whole center column button set?

I found it on realoem and getbmwparts.com for $99 and figure I can install myself.

I just want to verify (if possible) that it is not possible to replace just the buttons in pop in and pop out type of manner.

Worth a shot checking.

I recall seeing a thread about this being on another forum. Others in that thread got their buttons replaced under warranty. I think it's worth a visit to your local service advisor to see what they will do for you.

mine had the exact same thing but for button 2 & 3 and since the car is under warranty dealer changed it.

Really? Ok, did they just replace it or did you have to put up a fight?

i have the same problem but the dealer refused to replace them - the SA told me those are not covered under warranty.

Technically everything is covered looks like your dealer said they thought you were to blame which is my concern
