BMS Chrome Exhaust Tips Turning Bronze

I have chrome BMS tips that are about 4 months old now and have about 2.5k miles on them. I've noticed that the chrome is slowly turning into bronze color (due to heat I guess). Anyone find a way to polish them back to chrome? I've used Mother's chrome cleaner on it about 5 times now (applied before taking the below pics), which helps remove the soot (needed after every wash). Perhaps this is what is making it turn bronze?

That's not unusual. Look at chrome pipes on a Harley, they not only turn bronze but close to the manifold they turn blue.

Hmm. what a bummer. I was thinking of ordering those but I don't want to have to constantly polish them to keep the color like my stock ones which are still perfectly chrome. This sounds like a defect. I would like to know what BMS has to say.

I am already on my second set of tips. The first pair I got looked used so they sent me another pair.

The chrome tips do need to be cleaned/polished every time you wash the car. It takes about 3-4 minutes to do and involves a good amount of elbow grease. The black soot from the exhaust sticks on it really well.

Well...even though they are supposed to be chrome, I like the bronze effect. Gives a nice patina that adds character.

Same like the stock ones...especially the left one. I clean my car 1-2 times a week so cleaning off the tips is not a big deal. Dis-coloration is. I use a metal polish cream so they shine up well.
Chrome turning going yellow indicates not a good alloy.

I'm quite sure that he's responsible enough to use re-cycled bath water. If he love his car that much he might even bathe in the water he recycled from washing his car.
This is a good argument for a sealant, like Menzerna PL. I wipe my car down with a microfiber towel when I get home from a drive, which gets rid of dirt and dust so effectively that my washing schedule has been cut by 80%.

Most likely they are polished stainless steel not chrome plated & its caused by heat. I use this on my headers:

Wizards 11020 Metal Renew Liquid Polish - 8 oz

Wipe it on wipe it off, not much effort required.

Nope, only fresh water. And Every month my water bank balance goes up. I save water everywhere else so I can afford to wash my car often. I'm also really efficient in washing. Wiping the dust off with a towel after a drive...ouch...that's called saving water and making swirls. I'm going to sick Junkman on you
