Looks like mine, add black kidney grills, and unless you plan to take another route, mppk and mpe, also specify higher speed limit option unless it comes with msport im not sure

isn't mppk an aftermarket thing? and what's mpe?

also - looked at lighting package, not sure i need it given the all-led lights on the 340. thoughts? i'm mostly in the city, so auto high-beams won't do much for me.

The upgraded HK stereo is well worth the 800 bucks IMO.

RWD + snow tires was fine for me when I lived in Chicago.

Personally, I'd go RWD with track package and drop xdrive as the first order of business

+1. Chicago winter temperatures make winter tires necessary anyways so you just need to figure out whether you need/want xDrive.

I've driven between MD and NY this past winter with Michelin X-Ice Xi3 on my RWD 335i. It handled the snow like a champ.

HK stereo is already standard with the 340i xDrive.

HK makes the baseline stereo but there is an upgraded HK option...

edit: nevermind, you're right it does come with the upgraded HK it seems

+1!!!!!!! Three winters now in Chicago with RWD and winter tires and I've never had an issue, and I get to enjoy the driving dynamics of RWD!

You're missing RWD.

x-drive is a waste and that's coming from an x-drive owner who skis. RWD+winter tires is great in the snow and will be more fun, better gas mileage, and less maintenance during the 90% of time its not snowing

i was actually kind of wondering about that.. so the consensus is to ditch awd and spend the money on the adaptive-m?

.. and - is the track package worth it? i don't remember liking the variable steering stuff when i had it on my S4, and don't particularly care about the m-brakes. also, the 18s that are optional with the THP are fugly, and the 19s an extra $900...

i've driven plenty on RWD + snows in chicago, so I know that's an entirely doable option.

FWIW, The default for xDrive with M-Sport is all season tires with a square setup without the increased top speed limiter.

No cost option is summer performance tires with a staggered setup and that brings with it the increased top speed limiter.

ZTR on a 340i is not a must have: the brake upgrade is not as significant as it would be on a 328i, you can get adaptive suspension as an add-on to ZMP, which leaves you with the gray 398 wheels you don't like and VSS you don't care for.

is the staggered setup just standard on the RWD model? I don't see anything in the configurator about either the top speed limiter or a staggered setup.

Personally, I would just opt for the M Performance Suspension on a RWD 340i when your OE Sport Suspension shocks/struts are done.

Also, you're in Chicago so you should opt for the 18" wheel option. None of that hellaflush 20" failwheels when you hit a pothole.

what do you mean by "when your oe sport ... are done?"
