Early version Pro Nav / F31 changes

I'm looking at used F31's and my budget will only just get me into the first of the 330d F31's. so looking at 2012/13 models.

I know that at some point in 2013 the ProNav got the touch idrive controller.
I'm looking at one with ProNav, was there any other changes to it? And any changes to the 3 series in general I should aware of?

I know they had a LCI model around 15

Which gave you different rear lights

The only other huge change is to the stupid cupholder cover - in early cars it's a useless little tray that you have to lift out and shove into the glovebox, on the later ones it's a slideback cover.

But, as said, those changes came in 2015 - from September 2015 production on, so anything that's a 65 plate onwards, basically (I think)

I think the update I'm on about wasn't really a LCI more of a mini LCI.

The touch iDrive controller came in when the Pro Nav went to NBT from CIC. The 2015 LCI cars were built from July 15.
Be aware that only cars from Jan 13 had DAB as standard. Other than that, there wasn't any significant updates.

There have been updates along the way swift google should tell you what model year pro nav got updates. tbh I have the touch controller and never used it, more of a gimick if you ask me just scroll through ypur contacys or voice search so i wouldnt worry about it.

I have a 2012 f31 with most of the options, but the lack of dab drives me mad. The radio is rubbish without. Whatever you do try to get one with dab.

I've had the touch-controller on a loan car once. I thought it a complete gimmick. Just as easy, and just as fast, to use the scroll function to enter a phone number or postcode for navigation.

I thought all F3X had NBT. Oh well you learn something new everyday.

Can you tell from a VIN check?

Nope, the early NBT systems didn't have the touch controller!

And F31's all have NBT, they never made them with CIC.

Yes I have pro nav nbt.

DAB was an option in 2012 so some cars do have it.

I'm a Feb 2013 build. No touch pad. How can I tell if I'm CIC or NBT?! F30 model

I have NBT 2014 with touch in my 1 series. Will a 2013 F31 one with out touch have the same features minus the touch? As long as it has dab.

So I've not got CIC, but NBT. But even so, still not got the touch controller - and as I say, don't miss it at all.

Yes all same features. I think all F31's have DAB, but not certain.

I very rarely use mine, definitely wouldn't miss it.
