2014 335i ENGINE FILTER,COOLER AND PAN REPLACEMENT?
Any 2014 335i owners had their engine oil, cooler and pan gasket replaced? Last Friday, I was pulling up to my driveway and I noticed white smoke coming out of my hood so i popped it open and saw the radiator hose had broken off. So I towed the car immediately to a Indy shop and they found that my engine oil filter housing, oil cooler and oil pan gasket needs to be replaced! It's weird for me that these need replacement at such low mileage (current 52200 mileage). Anybody here had these replacement?

So far I got the engine oil filter housing, cooler gasket reaplced as well as the radiator hose and water hose for total of $905. I called BMW today to see how much they would charge to replace the oil pan gasket and told me they charged $2400 haha. I respectfully hanged up the phone.
The Indy shop would charge me $845 for the oil pan gasket with full oil change and new bolts. Seems not that bad but I've never done this before so I'm not sure so I'm just trying to get opinions. |

Pretty common at that mileage from what I see. Had my oil filter housing replaced @ 42k , and oil pan at 45k. Was still under warranty so that was good I guess. I fear the day for when I have to replace the top engine oil gasket , hopefully not for a while.

If you don't mind asking, do you have any modification on your engine?

While mileage is a big factor in when certain parts may fail or leak. Age also is another factory that is overlooked. Oil filter housing gaskets leak often and will drip from the front of your engine. It will eventually leak back towards your transmission. It also leaks down on the drivers side of the engine, which then drips down to your oil pan. Before assuming that your oil pan gasket is leaking, clean up any oil residual that your oil filter housing gasket may have left. If it still persist, then that's when you should consider replacing your oil pan gasket
