Mine failed last 2 weeks ago at 32k miles. 2013 335i msport. Replacement was done by the dealer and it was pretty much painless. I hope they replacing with reinforced or reingeniered part.

Unfortunately not.

They are cheap enough to them to just replace as needed.

If you want the real fix you need to go with an aftermarket aluminum.

Anyone know the status of the VRSF CP for the F30 335i xDrives? Tiago said that they're revising it. I see a VRSF one listed on Extreme Power House (www.x-ph.com) still but it doesn't specify "XDrives". I know Mike doesn't carry it at N54tuning, or I'd have bought it from his Cdn warehouse! Any idea where if I can get one that's not as pricy as the ER one to fit my '13 335i xDrive?

Thanks!

Hi Fred,
VRSF CP fits the RWD only at this time.

Yes, this is normal. To give you more peace of mind, take a look at the installation instructions. It says there should be a small gap like yours because of the expansion of the stock plastic charge pipe. I just installed mine and have the exact same give. If you have an xdrive and are having low boost, I would bet it's the lower tclamp not tightened enough or properly...that step was the worst of the entire install on an xdrive. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. We're actually leaning towards diverter valve issue. Dealership is checking it out on Monday!

Just out of curiosity, what does changing the chargepipe do for emissions? I noticed that a lot of them are cat-less. Since I am in a state that follows CA rules, wanted to make sure I am not causing myself unnecessary drama. Thanks.

Chargepipes don't have cats, you're thinking of downpipes

Glad you figured it out. I am installing my GFB DV+ within the next few weeks. I heard it is great for holding boost. Good luck.

What state do you live in? In CA, you aren't allowed to modify your downpipe at all. In fact, you're mostly restricted to a CARB approved intake and cat back exhaust to have a street legal car (but a lot of mechanics turn their head). If your state does emissions testing, don't do a downpipe. If they don't, but say downpipes are illegal, you can probably get away with a HFC downpipe or a cat less if you know your shop well enough. I have the Wagner HFC downpipe and love it.

2014 435i (47,700 miles) - My stock cp failed Saturday after two enjoyable pulls at 85% throttle. I was able to ductape it back and took it to dealership this morning. I had my car back by lunch time. I live in Houston so the heat and humidity is extreme. Regardless, the cp will fail. Make sure you have a roll of ductape with you at all times.

It was stock through 47,500 miles. Dinantronics Sport+ for two hundred miles. I believe the stock cp is a weaklink. The engine bay gets too hot for it to last. My cp looked identical to the one you had a picture of in the original post.

The M&Ms should join forces and take over BimmerWorld. Both of you are class acts in my opinion, so please take no offense.
