Wheel / Tire Size Suggestions.
Hi everyone. I have spent hours and hours going through this forum trying find the answers, but I just can't get it narrowed down and could use some help. I have a 2012 F30, stock (non sport) suspension with these 17" wheels. I am interested in 19", 437M wheels (replicas). Can you tell me if I will have to lower my car? And if so, can I just order a spring lowering kit or do I have to buy the additional new shocks as well? I would prefer not to have to lower the car and buy a suitable taller tire but I am not sure what tire sizes I would need. The newer F30/F31s that have 19s have 225/40/19s. I am thinking that I would have to lower my car with those. Would really appreciate some help. All in all I am just trying to get rid of the boring wheels I have and get the nicer 437Ms. Just daily diving. No tracks. Thanks!

19x8.5 +35 with 235/40/19 front, 19x9.5 +40 with 265/35/19 rear michelin pilot super sport or PS4S, or continental sport contact 6 or extreme contact sport. these are the top 4 tires ATM. hankook ventus v12evo2 is a good tire for modest price. springs only drop will cause the oem strut/shocks to fail sooner and the ride will be 5h!t after awhile. at minimum change the struts/shocks to koni yellow or bilstein b8 along with your lowering springs. If you like to stay on stock height I recommended a square setup with taller tires than OEM.
8.5x19" wheels with 245/40-19 tires, the taller sidewall helps to close the wheel gap slightly. Will look even better with lowering though. |
