My Production Status Code Moved Backwards ...

Was at 111, and today is at 105. CA said it should have gone into production before June at the latest, thus I was thinking it should have gone into production before the end of this week.

However, with 2014's rolling out in production in July and now I have no scheduled production week, how is this possible? It's either June or bust and now I feel like I'm screwed. Would reach out to CA but he's not in right now

Why don't you just wait the extra month and a half and get a 2014?

EDIT: If you do go that route, your car should be a "priority 1" and get to move higher up the list to be shipped (and probably be built too)

The E46 I have now is on it's last leg, and I don't see any 2014 features that really wow me. I'm trying to avoid replacing brake pads, spark plugs, since that will run at least 1K if not more, and it's stupid on a car this old. iDrive I could care less about, and that's seemingly the only real change at this time for 2014 models. If it were a LCI, I would consider a 2014.

If I went the 2014 route, I certainly wouldn't have it before August. In fact, my understanding is that the MT 328 is moving to SA for production for 2014, and that just means weeks and weeks of more waiting.

My car already was listed as priority 1, and still is. Wondering if this means anything any more ... ?

My car has been in port for 8 days, they're not in any hurry for a priority one

Dealers love to make bold statements like that to keep people in cars they ordered. BMW shifts/changes production location slots they offer to dealers on a monthly basis. So, while it surely is possible that July production will be all SA for the MT 328, its also possible that in August slots will open in Germany. Its anyone's guess. Your dealer may have only received SA slots for July but they can try to trade for a German slot with another dealer.

Confusing ...

If it isn't being produced within a month of ordering I will have a problem ...

dwalls, i just checked and saw that. Not sure why that happened considering it is a priority 1. Im worried the same thing is going to happen to mine as well since I haven't moved to 112 yet. And I checked the 2014 guide and it says nothing about the MT 328i's just being produced in SA for July

Thanks for that info Are you saying you are now in 105 or 111? My order was placed just about a week before you. My CA actually emailed me back telling me that since I had "changed" the order to add DHP it kicked it back from 111 to 105 just for one day and would resume regular scheduling today. That's yet to be seen.

I dealt with a different CA initially, who told me about that SA production change, he was obviously wrong.

I guess I really just don't want to wait any longer. If I ordered early May, I don't want to wait two whole months until production when it's not like I'm ordering an M3 with port installed items.

I'm still in 111. Ok, that may be a reason way and I'll check later in the day to see if it moved back. And good choice adding the DHP. I know what you mean about waiting, it sucks especially with a production date so far away!

We're basically the same car (except you have 335) with a same order date, so we should touch base and see how our wait times compare! We're also same region basically.

Do you have a scheduled production date? I don't think that happens until code 112.

Yeah we are in the same region according to BMW. No I'm still in 111 as of right now.

Okay well I hope I move to 112 soon. Seems like at most, it takes 3 weeks to move from the time production number is received to when it moves to 112. Then it's about a week or two until production begins.

I feel bad for bugging my CA constantly between adding DHP and then asking why my code changed on the configuration sheet.

I'll check back on Friday and pray it's at 112. It better not be anywhere near 105!
