I did that before I posted, lifted the hatch/floor to the trunk compartment. There was nothing there, but I dont believe a combox would be placed there in an F31 either, cause its a really vulnerable spot considering you lift this hatch whenever you wanna put or take stuff out of there. Ill try and take a pic later so you can see what I mean..

Ok I found a pic here that shows exactly how it looks when lifting the cover. Impossible to lift that cover to see whats hiding in the upper right corner...

Ordered US basic 2014 335i + parking pkg (rear view camera). I didn't think I need to pay for anything else to my taste. However I would like to know if it is going to have combox everybody talking about to code Enhanced Bluetooth.
In threads was noted the difference between 2013 and 2014. What I will get? Anybody knows?

Nothing to worry about, Enhanced BT is all built into the MY2014 NBT head unit.

I actually did manage to look what was underneath and sure enough that is the fuse box to the right and to the left is where the combox WOULD have been..

But he said he ordered a basic F30, I take that as with NO nav meaning no NBT? The european F31:s are like your MY14 F3x´s, they came with the NBT (had you opted for it..)

That is exactly what I said. NO nav. Navigation is an option and I didn't need it. So, to worry or not to worry?

Check the 2nd page of this thread. It looks like if you have a US MY2014 without Nav then you may be out of luck as even a combox cannot be retrofitted on these models.

Well no one on page 2 said it cant be retrofitted, it was stated that a standalone combox wont be available for US MY2014. As Ive said earlier my F31 is NBT-based, but I didnt get the nav, yet I was still able to choose the enhanced BT separately had I wanted. Meaning I would most likely have a separate combox if I opted for the enh. BT ; in other words a combox retrofit should work...? Another "proof" is that when I managed to check what was next to the fuse box (see above post with pic) I found the holders and even a cable with a plug connector, on the place where the combox would sit.

So if I get a combox, how many plugs do I have to connect for it to be correctly installed? Is it that single plug or would I have to draw more wires from the dash? What does the installl require?

We need to examine a 2014 that has Enhanced Bluetooth and no Navigation. I suspect it may not have a standalone Combox, and that the enhanced Bluetooth is built into the Head Unit (HU_CHAMP),same as it is built into NBT. Then the question is will there be only one non-Nav Head Unit (HU_CHAMP) that anyone can code Enhanced Bluetooth on, or will there also be a non-Enhanced Bluetooth Version (HU_BASIC) that cannot be coded. And if the latter is the case, then we need to determine if one has HU_BASIC, can a Combox be retrofitted for use with it.

That´s exactly right.

I will get my coding cable soon, don´t know how to code but if I have the correct software (e-sys plus some other program, right?) I can start looking at what mine says if that will be of any help...

You need E-Sys and PSdZData files.

Yes, it will help. We can at least see what ECU's are listed in SVT, and if it has HU_BASIC or HU_CHAMP, and CMB_MEDIA.

Afterward, you should understand how to replace 6NH with 6NK in your VO.

2) VO Code HU_CIC and CM_MEDIA ECU's:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

I have a non-nav F31 with enhanced Bluetooth, I can check if I have the combox in the trunk or not, if that's for any help.

I've a fy14 F30 with Prof media sat nav, but I only see the phone under the bluetooth settings, nothing about audio.
Am I missing something here?

I've been thinking about this and wondered if its something to do with the statement "2) VO Code HU_CIC and CM_MEDIA ECU's:"

I haven't patched or bought a token yet as looking around the forum it seemed that EBT could be enabled without a token.
Do I need to get the token to be able to set the HU_CIC / CM_MEDIA ecu's?

If you have a NBT based HU, then try changing 6NH to 6NS (instead of 6NK) and re-VO code the NBT.

Do you have a CMB_MEDIA ECU? The combox is built into the NBT HU, so you should not see a separate CMB_MEDIA ECU in your SVT list.
