Buzz kill...

...the mileage in a 335i isn't significantly better than an M3. In my E9X M3's, I averaged 330-ish miles per tank. I get about 100 more miles in the 335i in the same/similar driving conditions. Better, but not so significant to be a huge priority when choosing between both cars.

So, over the long run 100 more miles a tank is not significant? How many tanks you fill in 4 years? PS you know we are talking Canadian Dollars and Canadian Car pricing? New M3s start at $65 here with zero options. This car is fully loaded.

I know you guys pay more, but that really wasn't my point. And as for your 100 more miles inquiry......

...ummm, the fun factor of owning an M3 is worth the 100 mile penalty if I'm being honest.

I hear you. Well being my first BMW (coming from a 2007 Lexus IS350), I am happy with my choice. I don't know how I ever enjoyed driving all these years without one. Maybe my next one will be an M3 when we finally have an AWD version. I'm just getting started.

An AWD M3 would be pretty legit!

If you're getting 330 miles in an M3, then you sir are experiencing the buzzkill.....of not DRIVING your car.

Don't turn it into the same ol' debate.

OP, we are shocked to see that sticker price. Many people like myself havn't priced out 335i's yet with this brand new package, so it is the first time seeing this price. It's not a knock on you at all, it's more me just getting used to the new norm.

And considering that price is a couple thou less than what I paid for my M3, it's taking a little getting used to. I am sure the new M3's will start around $63k...... and with leather seats and auto be at $68k before any other options.

Enjoy that beast!

This is a special edition model available for Canada. The US does not have this for their market.

Looking at Canadian prices, a base M3 in Canada actually starts at 71,700.

I think people lose sight that it is Canadian pricing vs US.

Anyway, nice car!

Agreed... i rarely if ever saw over 9mpg average, but i drive like an asshole... first thing i did after hitting the start button was push the M button...

To each their own, the sticker price is a shock, but at the end of the day, it's the OPS money and he is free to do with it as he pleases, unless you and him are legally married, which i think is acceptable in Canada. Then and only then should you have input in what he spends his money on...

I'm still lol'ing at 230-ish miles to a tank in a M3... Didn't realize they were filming a sequel to Driving Miss Daisy...

Current e9x M3 starts at 72k here. The new F80/F82 will start atleast 10k more. The problem is that you will never find a base M3 or with just one or 2 pkgs here at the dealerships and custom ordering is not a possibility since the e9x series is done.

I went through this same dilemma last few weeks before settling on an M3 but I totally understand the guys who choose this car over the M3.

LMAO! I was wondering when the obligatory "you're not getting the best out of your car" statement would emerge. Trust me! I drove my car at the track where it matters (..and I race bikes, so I get more than enough speed thrills; I don't need to do it on public roads. I ticket people who choose to do that, and I'm not a hypocrite). Carry on!

P.S. You have to be driving hard for quite awhile to significantly affect MPGs. A quick 10 minute romp won't do it.

Congrat on the ride it looks really good. Hey BMW... I think it's time those HP numbers remained standard, and not gained through performance packs. The 335 has had the same stock HP since 2007. It's time for a standard bump on the 335/435... Even the 235 gets more HP out the box.

Nice ride!

I also can't believe the price!! My 330i was 38k in 06 well equipped (no idrive) and this one is 65k. I mean the spread of $30k over 7y!? Yet it appears that folks are buying them based on sales data. I don't think I will ever buy new one.

Congrats OP nice ride. It's more expensive to get the mperformance parts individually so you saved a bunch of money by getting this limited edition

I've upgraded to having lawyers handle that, lol... especially in California, they have too many loopholes... HOWEVER, in my defense, i always say aloud; "if i get nailed for speeding / using the car pool lane, i deserve it and I will gladly pay the fines, because if i calculate minimum of 5 days a week in the car pool lane i ride solo, for the entire year, and it's a $398 dollar fine, i'll take it..." And then i always make a quick phone call so i can get out of it, lol... I guess you are right, i am a hypocrite. Kind of like when i'm defending the guy for his monthly payment and then recently i had just put someone else on the spot for theirs... Hey, at least i'm honest...

I agree about the inflation, but remember this is 65k Canadian. Even still, these 335i's command a pretty costly dollar these days. Then again, so does the M3. My first M3 in 2003 had a base price in the mid/high 40's. Shit dun' changed!
