I have a friend that works as a chassis engineer for another big German manufacturer and they use the car both with and without the nanny systems during the development. The nanny systems helps most drivers but the car is in no way dangerous to drive without them.

But a lot of people overestimate their skills and underestimate how hard it is to recover from an unexpected slide (wet patch, oil, ice etc) so of course they should be on during normal driving.
