320d March 2012 built. 18.000kms. While reversing, parking etc i hear it also. Seems to me like its coming from the back of the car. I took it to my dealer but they couldn't find the reason. I don't think this is normal at all. There is definitely something wrong. I will take it to service again in a few weeks.

I'll let you all know what I find out when they can get the car in.
I agree with your mindset 100%. Good luck at the dealer. Appreciate you letting us know what you find out.

More than likely you're hearing the abs self test. Does this mostly happen when you first start reversing in the morning?

Nope. After an hour of driving into work, it happens when I back into my space.

Maybe I misunderstood one of your posts. Mine occurs when I begin to drive forward after I was in reverse.

The initial clunk is definitely the ABS self test. Every German car i've ever owned has done it. The clunk after backing in at work sounds like it might just be normal drivetrain movement. I know when I modded the dogbone mount on my GTI I would get a sort of click or clunk when I accelerated after backing. Some people have reported some suspension noises on cars with DHP too I think. I haven't heard anything yet that sounds like what you're experiencing.
