E90 - F30 sound system

Does anyone know if there has been changes from the E90 standard 6 spk sound system to the F30 6 spk system??

The F30 has the mid-tier audio system in the US, an upgrade over the European standard audio system. The HK is another step above that. So it's good, better, best. Three different systems in the F30 in total.

Not sure if you get the mid-tier or the base audio system standard in Australia.

I can tell you that the mid-tier audio system in the F30 sounds significantly better than the stock system in the E90. I wouldn't spend any money on the Harman Kardon system.

No. No one in the US has a clue about the base "Stereo" 6-speaker system.

If you want to work with a skilled shop or if you are interested in doing some tests, I can walk you through some local tests and even send you a cable to use with your laptop for some tests...

The HK sound system is sweet. Worth the price.

Totally agree. If you like listening to music the HK is a no brainer.

HK is better, yes. Fairly good. "Sweet" is a stretch. I've yet to find a German car with a Sweet sounding stereo. Even the BMW Premium stereo I found to be overpriced for what it is.

Lexus Mark Levinson stereos are much closer to sweet.

Well, I guess if BMW offers the 7-series B&O sound system in 2015, I'll go for that option. Maybe I got a tin ear.

B&O in Audi has great highs, maybe too much, but bass lacks compared to HK. Subs are too small and amplification is likely not up to par. They bottom out and sound pretty lousy when pushed just a bit. Have not listened to implementation in 7 series. Will have to check it out. Dealers think I'm crazy when I go in to jam their stereos.

That is hilarious, I thought I was the only one getting weird looks for doing that haha!

had a stock sound system in my e90 (318)
again the stock version in my f30

personally I think the f30 system is a definite upgrade, sound is much better and doesn't come with the crisps if set too loud for the stereo's taste
