F32 Steering wheel rattle FIXED.
After 2 years of suffering from rattling noise since F30 335i, I returned 335, and bought new F32 435i.
Even with this new one, the steering wheel started rattling. As soon as I found this problem, I ran to the dealer to fix it. First repair attempt failed. They said they fixed it by adding insulation material under steering column cover but it was still there. On second repair attempt, It is perfectly fixed by adding more insulation material to fill all hollow space between steering column and the plastic column cover. If I knock on the cover, it doesn't vibrate at all, so thus while driving. I'm pretty much happy that now it doesn't rattle anymore. Whoever suffers from steering wheel rattling problem, they should go to the dealer and add insulation material A LOT to make it tight. |

I hear a plastic rattle from this area now too but your lines arent pointing to anything unless I'm missing something here.
Does the felt tape go in the seam but underneath the trim? Does it go someplace else? I started hearing a clicking today from the wheel area on a long trip home. Drove me nuts.

I believe the OP is talking about putting insulating material under the plastic cover at the locations shown by the arrows.
