Yeah, I wanted to get the chrome off the area as I have the brushed chrome right next to shifter - my OCD was affected! I have seen the base trim wrapped... but that would be a hard match!
Yeah, I hate the chrome too. The surround trim with the alcantara looks nice in the pictures, but I just hate the feel of that stuff in person, so I just put up with that little bit of chrome.

Having custom CF with black accent installed in my 335 soon FTW!

And here's the CF shifter trim. I just order the shifter surround with the alcantara and CF, so will post some pics once installed. I think it adds a nice touch, it has a nice woven tactile feel, plus it gets rid of some unwanted chrome in the interior.

Agree with other comments. OP's car is one of the best US wagons on these boards!
Spuntyb did you do this in the end? I just put them on and ordered from getbmwparts site. Very happy with the look.

Nothing Illogical about a love for Alcantara bro, nothing.

cnc - love your car. Do you feel ACS is the safe option for lowering springs?

Thanks buddy. I do, I haven't done it yet. But it's on my list of future mods to do, after exhaust and some more dinan stuff.

Are you on the fence about it?

I plan on getting (buying) another F31 which I will mod tastefully. (current car is a lease)

I kinda have an irrational fear of lowering an xDrive F30 and having drive train issues so the ACS springs seems like a good compromise.

Some new gear for das wagon:

Hint: Roofbox 520 (I even Opticoated it)

PS this won't fit on Thule aerobars, need to go OE.

That's going to look good! I was considering one but don't want to deal with storage! That gloss black is tempting get a good price inc shipping?

Just got back from a week at the Maryland beaches, the interior was jammed! Thank goodness for the split tailgate

Thanks!

For now, it's on the wall, but, I just bought one of these Thule Cargo Box Lifts - http://amzn.to/2vi2rq5 - this way it will help me lower it on to the car and keep it out of the way.

I'm going to upstate NY in Sept with the family, two little kids and an old dog, my plan was to put the pooch in the boot (I just got a nice liner for it, I'll post that later) and throw all the baggage into the roof box, including the stroller (that thing takes up a lot of *******.

I was able to score the box for $820

That is the perfect option. Good price, I found the 460 at $800 (getbmwparts has it lower but with shipping puts it at $820).

Be interested to hear how it performs. I get stressed with a beach cart and 3 beach chairs - let alone the clothes!

I picked up a load protective mat - worked great except the clips came off ! Was still useful and provided a shield for the rear window!

What a pain in the ass it was to find this OE dog guard. It's like BMW wants to keep it a secret.

Got the dog guard installed. Actually, very easy to do.

I also installed the OE trunk protector for my upcoming family road trip where we will bring the dog with us. Installation is "interesting," there are these lugs that go under the rubber molding...seems odd.

Finally got the Thule roof box "holder" mounted on the ceiling. I just need to paint the lumber next.

Roof box install looks good, nicely above the door when open. That boot liner looks like a job to install! Hope it does a good job protecting the carpets an moulding.

Gorgeous! Really loving the performance spoiler the more I see it. Might have to upgrade ours.

How's she been holding up since you got her? I've literally only brought mine in for basic maintenance and an alignment in almost 3 years now.

Pretty much the same. On my road trip the HUD has been acting weird, the brightness level is low and goes from bright to dim. Also, the brakes vibrate slightly. I am due for an oil change and will bring it up when I get back. The car has been great otherwise.

Well it's been a while. I'm going to take a road trip with the family soon, and I wanted to be prepared. I picked up a spare tire kit along with a few other precautions:
