Hit and Run

Hey guys. Never wanted to have to make this post, but it looks like someone backed into me. I'm trying to weigh my options on repairs. The kidney grilles are obviously cracked and need to be replaced. The only damage to the actual bumper is the paint is curled and damaged. What are my options? Should I just take the grilles out and take it to a local shop and get them to fix that little square inch worth of paint? The other route is replace the grilles and take the hit when I turn the car back in in a year. I have 10 months left on my lease, if the price is close to or as much as getting the paint fixed at a local shop, I might just take the hit on the turn in. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Also, forgive the dirtiness of the car

Ugh man people these days!! Id say buy some grills off ebay and replace just those. The paint looks like it can be buffed and polished to look a lot better. If you are thinking of another bmw i hear they cancel any charges or penalties from damage on the car at lease turn in. I got some m repliaca grills off ebay with the surround for 50 bucks, although it looks like you just need the surrounding piece to the kidney grills as the grills themselves look to be in good condition.

I think that's the best option as well. Anyone have any idea as to the amount of correction I could do with a polisher? This could give me an excuse to buy one...

the cracked paint cannot be fixed with a correction. that needs sanding and respray. id honestly just get ebay grills and carry on.

It looks too small for the leasing company to care. Dents can be under 1 inch. (Check your lease guidelines, there is a lease tool.)

Leave the dent, get new grilles.

Get some compound and hand rub that area--the deeper scratches will not come out but the small ones will. You will get an improvement that might be good enough to live with for 10 months.
