n26 extra cats/muffler vs n20

Hello, I have been in the process of finding out how I will be straight piping my car (2014 328i n26) from the stock down pipe to a custom y pipe to quad tips. My questions are A: What difference does 3 in piping have vs other?
B: what is the extra mufflers on the n26 vs the n20 which has what i expected ( pipe/ resonator/ muffler
C: if I delete that second portion will it help with the exhaust note?
As you can see the top image which is the n26 has a extra muffler before the resonator

The second muffler your referring to is actually not a muffler at all. It's a secondary catalytic converter

Ohhh I see, secondary cats. Well thank you! Now do you think it would make a major sound difference if I removed that as well as the resonator and muffler?

I have a res delete and mid pipe cat delete with the m performance exhaust and a catless downpipe on my n26. It sounds amazing and really wakes to car with sound wise with popping and crackle!

Just finished installing my vrsf downpipe on my n26 and it sounds like stock. Could it be because of my secondary cat?

Yes same exact thing, only thing you may notice is the performance past 70mph which is a lot. Also you need to get rid of the stock exhaust system

How did you remove the secondary cat? The muffler shop i go to said because the pipe going into the secondary cat is flat he can't straight pipe it. Any ideas or advice on how i can do this?

I'm sure your muffler shop could cut where the pipe isn't as flat, I've seen many muffler shops do this

If they can't do it, maybe try another muffler shop or get the awe midpipe

The pipe is flat until it goes into the cat, then comes out of the cat as a 3 inch pipe. Unless I'm seeing wrong
