F31's only ever had NBT.

My car came with 6NH. I want to code enhanced bluetooth. It has HU_ENTRY and CMB_MEDIA. I tried 6NS but that did not seem to take. Should I try 6NK or 6NL? If so, why? Thanks for your help.

6NS is used for NBT Head Unit. For cars with 6NH and ENTRY or CHAMP2 Head Units, use 6NK, or 6NL if car is equipped with BMW Assist.

Struggling with mine...

Picked up new car yesterday, got new data files from shawnsheridan (thanks!)

Now i can see it... read the FA.. change it from 6NH to 6NW.. activate the FA and code the NBT2 - but it doesnt take it... if i then read the FA from car again - it has gone back to 6NH

Ive tried 6NS aswell..... im sure im missing something as never had a problem with doing my previous car...

Anyone any ideas?

It will go back to 6NH unless you write the FA to the car which you don't really want to do as if BMW ever try to update your software it will cause problems.

I'm not sure why it isn't activating EBT though

There is nothing new in the software. If you have HU_NBT2, and you do the following steps, you should have EBT:

Modify FA
Write FA to VCM
Read FA
Activate FA
VO Code NBT2

Ok.... after all that I think it has been working all along.... it just doesn't have the option to enable bluetooth telephone2 like on the older I drive..when I reconnected my handsets it automatically added the 2nd one as additional telephone

Coded this back in November - all has been well but now the car (pro-nav 8.8) fails to connect to my S7 (Android 7) until I repair it. Anyone got a fix?

Back when I first coded my November 2014 F31 I used ESys 54.1 and it worked fine. I know after that there were later versions, fixes for trimmed CAFD files and stuff which I didn't study too much as it didn't affect me.
My car went in for a repair yesterday and they had to update some or all of the software - whatever they did erased all of my coding. If my car now has a later s/w version do I need a later version of ESys and the data? If I do could you send me a link please Shawn?
