Option: 3DZ - Without Lines/Designation

Is this option automatically selected when ordering a vehicle?

Also, for those who have it or know of it - Lets say your car did come w/ it but you didn't want it. Are they easy to remove like the badges (328i/335i) or?

It's a "rest of the world" option. They don't put the line designation badges on US market cars.

Super easy to remove too if it does come with it.. There's a write up in the DIY section about it

but in all honesty... floss, something to heat it, take your time to work the floss ... and goo remover is all you need. then it looks shiny new like it was never there

They sometimes do (but in very small numbers)...anytime I've been on the lot there are always a couple of random F30s with them on...

If there was a badge that read "Luxury","Modern" or "Sport" on a US BMW 3er the car would be keyed on day 1...

Ah, so glad to hear this. I saw the 3DZ listed on my BMWConfig print-out, and mentioned it to my salesman. He looked through the computer, but couldn't find that option code anywhere. I was starting to get nervous that my car might come with the (tacky, IMO) badges on the sides. Now that I know it is not even possible for a U.S. vehicle to have these, my mind is at ease.

None of the F30's on the lot had the badges, so I was already somewhat sure that mine wouldn't, but I wanted to be 100% sure. Now I am.

While its not supposed to happen, it does. Much like the M-Sport wheel showing up on random peoples Sport line builds, these "mistakes" happen in small numbers. I have personally seen these badges occur multiple times both in CA and in IL...
