questions from new member with 2015 335 xdrive sedan
hi everyone,
i'm new to the forum and this is my 1st BMW, there are many things i'm not very familiar with so i'm hoping to get some answers from you experts. 1) for winters...what is the smallest wheels i can fit on a 2015 335 xdrive sedan (no M brakes)? can you fit 17s with the proper offset and wheel design? 2) where you buy OEM replica wheels in Toronto as winters? my car is a lease with intention to return the car when it's due. is it true i HAVE to return the car with the same or BMW's equivalent tires? mine came with summers, can i was hoping to use the stock wheel with new winters and use another wheel with stock summers. any one have any experience on tires + wheels when returning from lease? thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

1) for checking what fits. you can try out ..
http://www.tirerack.com/content/tire.../packages.html 2) lots of tire/wheel shops sell replica. Some of the reputable ones include: - Tires23 (Mississauga) - Simply tires (North Toronto) - Joy City (Markham) As for car lease ends, if your OEM tires (which are Runflats) are worn, then you will have to buy the same RF. Brand is not a main issue but the model for 4 corners are. If you are leasing, you can do whatever makes you happy but just make sure you return the car the way you had been given on day one (i.e. stock wheels with RF summer tires). |

If you are leasing, your factory tires should last the length of the lease (assuming your lease is 48 months or less) if you are using a separate set of winters. My last 2 BMWs have been leased and I've always had enough rubber left on the stock tires at lease end (used a separate set of winters on both cars).

thanks for the replies!
btw, how to you activate the launch control? i've tried putting the car in sport + mode, shift to manual 1 gear, press brake then gas but still no launch. am i missing something? and how do you make the fog lights stay on when you have the lights on auto? i found myself manually turning the fog on every time when it's dark and the auto lights turn on low beam at nights. thanks all! |

For launch control, did you turn off traction?
You must turn on lights and then press the fog lights button.

call your bmw dealer and ask to make sure...tire rack said i was good for 17" but they dont take into account sport line on the 328, wasted a lot of time and money to end up having to get 18"

17's should work on a 328i with the standard brakes. I've been using the same 17's i used as a winter set on my old E90 without any issues for the last 3 winters. Not sure about the 335i though as it may use different brakes than the 328i.

Take the factory rims and RFT off and put them in your basement - they are crap anyway. Get some aftermarket rims and tires (summer and winter sets) and rotate until lease is done. Put the originals back on just before you hand it back and sell your other two sets (unless you get another BMW that they will fit!)
