Can you play iPhone video through navi screen?
Can we do that via USB?
I thought I read there's coding we can do to our cars to unlock this? Wondering if theres a way to watch netflix/youtube

I believe that even with coding it only works on Android, and I don't think it actually outputs your phones screen. Since android phones can mount as a flash drive you can navigate to your videos on the folder structure and play them. It's not like you can stream a youtube video, it would have to be a file already on your phone, similar to just using a flash drive.

So no one has found a way to stream Netflix onto the Nav screen?
Man, you would think in 2014 it would be super easy to do so, specially with BMW...

Is this only with older phone? From what I remember, I thought iPhone5 and up's digital output couldn't work with the cars analog USB connection.

I never managed to get video working when I had an iPhone 4s and a media snap-in adapter with NBT. And I don't believe YouTube ever worked for any phone.
