BMW Assist
I've had my car for 4 weeks and have only activated BMW Assist.
Is anybody a fan of this service? I'm feeling kind of bad not using it, but not sure it it's worth messing with.

Most of the services are only used if you have some kind of problem.
MyInfo is the one feature you are likely to use most. It enables you to send addresses of destinations to the Nav from Google Maps or the MyBMW Remote App on iphone or Android. Door unlock can now be done from the App as well. The only other service I hope to ever use is Teleservice. This communicates with your dealer to notify when maintenance is due. I think the dealer calls you to setup appointment. |

I just added the option to my order today after doing some research on it. Not a bad option to have especially in case of emergencies. I actually got it for the benefits of integrating my iPod to the iDrive (can't take having to use the AUX port) without having to spend $2K on the Nav system, the safety extras are actually worth the cost, at least in IMO.

Remote app
Agree, intolerably slow. I can only envision using this in the most extreme situations. Additionally I have found the BMW Assist internet connection to be unusably and disappointingly slow (NOTE: this is the internet connection through the built-in cell, not your personal smart phone)
