Harmon Kardon equalizer settings

Hello,

I have the LOGIC 7 HK audio set in my 2015 3 series 328i xdrive. I am not sure what the equalizer setting should be. I feel that in the drivers seat I am not feeling the full impact of the audio output.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mad Villain. I will try this out. Someone told me that you should aim for a 'U' shape in the equalizer settings pattern. Yours looks close to a U except for the center setting which is closer to the + sign.

no probz. Yea not sure why they set it up like this but my salesman is a long time friend of mine and said him and the rest of the guys at the dealership tried lots of setups to see what worked best and this is the one they all use.

"U" shape might work well also....might adjust that one to all the way negative and see how it changes the sound.
also make sure you have Logic 7 checked off...makes a huge difference

I have my balance and fader set so that the sound is coming more from the middle of the car to give more of a concert hall sound. I dont like having the balance and fader in the middle because it feels like too much of the sound is centralized in a small area right in front of my face. Of course my settings are best just for me and not my passengers but who cares about them anyway! As for the EQ, I leave it completely flat and turn down the bass a bit.

Thanks! Good idea. I will play around with the fader/balance settings next.

I was going to mention the same. With them set in the middle, all the sound seems to come from the steering wheel. Moving more of the sound to the back and to the right helped a lot - as you said, more of a concert hall sound.

Meanwhile I'd tested several bass settings to increase the sound to more -um- volumnious. No matter where the bass paddles are, I got at least the feeling, that HK mutes the bass after the first few seconds, that a typical hardcore song with heavy bass tones is raped to a non-bassdrum one.

One of the cool effects off setting the balance and fader this way is that now I am hearing instruments coming from the rear of the car instead of everything concentrated in one small area, again more of a concert hall sound where the music is enveloping the listener. I prefer this.

I actually stumbled across it after our son was born. I wanted more of the sound back there for him, so moving the faders to the rear and right did the trick, but I realized that it made the overall sound in the the driver and passenger seats that much better. It's a "fuller" sound, and it feels like true surround.
